I would love to be able to create a truly anonymous email account so I would like to be able to pay for premium accounts with Monero or Bitcoin.

Proton.me: “We will be adding Monero as a payment option for our VPN plans by the end of Summer 2025. Source: https://x.com/davidgpeterson/status/1941500514803548636” https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/935538-accounts-payments/suggestions/33188971-monero-payment-option

… and keep a particularly close eye on the logs of those who selected this option?

“We’re pleased to announce that Proton VPN has passed a third consecutive annual third-party audit of our infrastructure that confirms our strict no-logs policy. When we say we are a no-logs VPN, it is not just a claim: it has been double-checked by independent experts.” https://protonvpn.com/blog/no-logs-audit/

I never really understood why the community was begging Proton to accept Monero directly. 🤔 I’ve been paying for their VPN with Monero for almost a year already, using a crypto card I load my PlasBit card with XMR and it simply works.

Proton staff says that one can purchase through these authorized proxies:

    • https://coingate.com/gift-cards/proton-vpn-plus

at least one of these supports Monero.

This news is definitely not all positive, but should be viewed with skepticism.

Please remember to use two wallets: One for receiving XMR and another for sending/paying. Only use the wallet for receiving XMR to top up the other payment wallet. The receiving wallet is never used to send to other wallets and the address is never published. - Two Wallets Increase Your Privacy
