Do those things actually work? I’m prone to static shocks in the winter and at the office (for some reason), but I don’t want to spend $25 on a wristband that doesn’t work.
The ones that have a wire that you attach to ground work. The ones that don’t are a scam.
Only if they have grounding (aka, a wire connected to somethin metal). So, no.
Maybe they could use one of those chains that they hang off the back of tanker trucks?
They keep you connected to the electrical ground so that YOU don’t build up a voltage. But that doesn’t mean a built up voltage somewhere else can’t go through you. Ideally you wear the strap and you keep the electronics grounded as well while you work so that there’s need for charge to move between.
