‘The Houthi leader vowed to continue the attacks until Israel lifts its blockade of Gaza, saying that “nothing – not all the threats, the missiles, the pressure – will change our position.”’
The Houthis say the strikes will never change their stance, but their stance doesn’t matter if they don’t have the military assets to attack commercial shipping.
Dude is asking to get switchbladed.
Not supporting either side here, even if I am a American.
But I really would not recommend any of the things they just said. America is always looking for a reason to use their military might - so much that the military literally gives equipment to police officers because we have so much.
I think they’re assuming the US’s political losses will be worth it, which might not be wrong given how many voters Biden would lose if he starts another war in the Middle East.
Yeah but how many voters would he lose if oil prices are impacted because of this? I’d say it’s probably a larger number.
Gotta keep that war machine churning, you know? How long has it been since our last major conflict? 3 years since we left Iraq? Think of the shareholders for all of those defense companies!
This is pretty interesting. I guess the Houthis figure they have little to lose at this point, and they assume that Western nations won’t invade or carpet bomb them.
Maybe Western warships should leave the area and avoid being the focus. Let the regional powers deal with it.
