The ICJ decision gave new strength to South Africa’s groundbreaking accomplishment — demolishing the taboo against holding Israel accountable for its crimes. As South Africa’s foreign ministry put it, “Today marks a decisive victory for the international rule of law and a significant milestone in the search for justice for the Palestinian people.”
It’s not a dilemma, it’s an opportunity to pivot, while saving face as much as possible.

At this point I’m convinced Israeli intelligence has some sort of terrible blackmail on Biden, this is way beyond ideological at this point.
The political and national security damage he’s doing both to himself and the US makes no sense otherwise. Even if you’re arguing as to what’s best for Israel, this slaughter is making Israelis less safe and the region less stable.
