For downloading, look at DDL sites.

For uploading, if you can’t do it safely, don’t. Stash it all, make backups, keep it until you can do it safely.

Serious answer: You have to remember that these apps want you to stay on them. They’re dis-incentivised from making a good match for you. The chance isn’t zero because they need the occasional success story to keep people hopeful, but I wouldn’t suggest getting too invested in them. Go and sign up for an activity you might enjoy, there might be other people there you could make friends with.
