There’s an old myth about a shipment of playing cards. The guy buys a whole container of playing cards, but removes the same card from all packs. The shipment is confiscated and later sold for almost nothing because the packs are all incomplete. He then buys the shipment and restores the packs. All this was cheaper than paying import duties.

I don’t know exactly why. A quick search told me that “because the people wanted that way”. In Brazil, we don’t use the area code for local calls, so, if they created a new area code for the same city (like we have in Montreal, the 514 and the 438), it would cause confusion.

Brazil has a stupid numbering system for phones, now. Instead of having three digits area codes and several area codes for highly populated areas, they have two digits area codes and nine digits phone numbers. (But it’s not the case here, here is a scam caller)

Whatever that is, it wanted to be seen. It looks like there’s light in the main rotor.

I suppose they sent the requests so they could sell the cars cheaper than the competitors when the rebate is cancelled.

Probably all of them are fraud. A friend bought a Tesla last year and they said Tesla DOESN’T do the paperwork for the EV rebate. The client must go after it and pocket the money. All other dealers do the job for you.

I told this story before. I was migrating an old system to a new one and we discovered that we were still sending faxes to some companies. Our system would create a PDF and send to a server that was connected to a phone line. So we called those companies to ask if we could find another way to send the documents. We learned that they too had a server with a software that would receive the fax and transform it in a PDF.
