A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage in connection with the felling of the 300-year-old Sycamore Gap tree in the north of England.
Officers arrested the teenager amid an outpouring of sadness over the destruction of the landmark, which has been a feature of the site at Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland for hundreds of years. The boy is in custody and assisting officers with their inquiries, Northumbria police said on Thursday.
Locals and national park authorities said they were “struggling to see the logic” in the destruction of a sycamore which had long become “part of this area’s DNA” and had gone through thousands of changes of seasons.
The tree, believed to have been about 300 years old, was made famous when it appeared in the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, starring Kevin Costner.
im putting 10 bucks on that not actually being the universal experience, especially to a different town

yall have severe mental issues, and likely worse than whatever this kids got
Me: don’t be a shitty person.
You: you crazy, let them do whatever they want
Your amateur medical diagnosis holds no weight.
i actually didnt say we should let them do whatever they want
what im actually saying is that calling for dismembering children is dangerously unhinged, and that you are a freak
If crimes had consequences, less people would commit crimes.
it seems like you missed this part of my comment:
easy mistake to make, its only the first half of said comment
might want to bring that up with the psychiatrist while youre there for the whole ‘i want to dismember children’ thing
I enjoy how much effort you’re putting into insulting me. I think it’s doing the opposite of what you want it to do. I’m cracking up.
So then, what do you think his punishment should be? Since this thread leads back to me saying moving isn’t a big deal, and you got triggered, you must think the punishment should be lower. Enlighten me.
i didnt figure appealing to basic decency would do what i want it to do
and suddenly everything makes sense
