I keep getting made fun of by my smoking friend for how I hold them. It just feels more comfortable to hold them between your index and middle fingers like a cigarette rather than pinching it with your index and thumb. And it seems easier to control how much air reaches your mouth when you’re drawing.

Lol you can usually tell what people smoked first on how they hold a cig or joint.
I think the reason why most use index/thumb for joints is from manually rolling them vs cigs where there’s a filter and such, as it keeps it together better/prevents scooby snacks.

I use a vaporizer and I don’t care how you hold your joint. Just don’t let it fall to the ground, don’t burn yourself and you are good.
I’ve been made fun of for the same reason ! that was years ago, I was somewhat more impressionable. I did care a little. I stopped caring some time later, by virtue of wising up.
I don’t smoke anymore, I don’t even vape in fact - I order gummies from the shop. But back when I did ? I’d say it was a 50-50 mix between index+middle and index+thumb.
