India has formally requested Dassault to place its bid for 114 Rafael Jet.

The MRFA program, as per the Acceptance of Neccessity (AoN) the minimum value allocated for it is Rs 2.5 Lakh Crore, for acquiring F4 and potential F5 variants. It is cleared that a comprehensive plan is to be submitted regarding per jet cost, Make in India component percentage and with a gaurantee that atleast 96 jets will be produced inside India.

Negotiations will continue and will emphasise on increasing indigenous content that has been seen to be less than expected to that of 50-60% or more.

The deal structure is goverenment to goverenment. The final assembly line (FAL) is expected at Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) as per their partnership.

TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) is already constructing a dedicated faclity and Hyderabad to manufacture Rafael Fuelsage systems at a number of 24 annually.

Based on its performance, navy is also expecting to procure 24 additional naval versions of rafael.

Lets hope for the best guys, even if indigenous content is a bit less, we should make sure we get key technology and not delay the project further.

This is so stupid. Of all the possible options, why are we buying the one that we know won’t work against Pakistan? Entire contract should have been cancelled.

Maybe because no rafael never fell. Pakistan has shown no viable proof for it. We may be buying it becuase they were effective?

Oh I actually gave the benefit of the doubt and thought you weren’t buying into Indian slop propaganda lol.

        no viable proof for it

It’ll take me a hot second, but I can repost all of the wreckage footage here if you’d like.

I would trash on the Rafale for a number of reasons, but IAF’s losses had a lot more to do with their failure of real time strategy and overall capability in the air.

Regardless of the Rafale’s features, simply buying more of them isn’t going to solve the problem. You need a long term plan that includes a significant upgrade of ground and air radar platforms, SIGINT capabilities, EW and ECCM capabilities, an actual data link, modern long range BVR missiles, BVR training, etc, etc.

I thought PAF was bluffing when they said they intercepted cleartext air comms in 2019, but they proved it this time by publishing an audio snippet during their presentation, which means they either successfully jammed encrypted channels or India is using a heavily outdated cipher suite that can be trivially cracked.

Either one points to a serious lack of progression in the IAF’s ability to fight on a modern battlefield.

I am not saying that there was no airframe loss, but the sheer numbers advocated are fake. wheater you accept it or not, Rafael is the best in its class for a 4.5 gen fighter. The main goal of OP Sindoor was to attack and destroy Pakistani terrorist camps and military outposts which was achieved, in a conflict you cannot expect no loss, but the thing that matters is that wheather you achieved your target or not. Multipl Pak airbases were targeted and many grounded fighter jets were destroyed as well by India, I have shown multiple proves about that on this community and they are actually verified IAF sources but the most of the clips shown by PAF are highly questionable. So the losses were on both the sides, but the difference was, India was able to achieve its targets.
