Sure, if we’re talking about writing for it’s own sake. Most of what people use AI for is, like, emails and advertising copy. Maybe porn. Book reviews and newsletters, per this article. It’s all writing that’s secondary to some other purpose.

I think it remains to be seen. If the vast majority of text I read is synthetic, my writing will naturally start to smell synthetic too.

I write mostly because it helps me organize my own thoughts. Granted, professional writing shouldn’t be that, but … well, what’s a column if not that?
