Use Firefox so that is preferred. Thanks in advance.
Redirector can do that

replace Mylemmyinstance.com with your own domain.
i scraped the lemmy instances from the join-lemmy instance list. you can add in a instance just bey separating it with | .
Note: this redirector rule will only redirect domains that has “/post/” in the url otherwise it’ll just go to the site. i haven’t tested any of the instances to see if they use something other than /post/ .
update: i made a mistake because i misunderstood how the federation links work… i’ll try to fix it.
Ohhhh will have to look into and try this out later thanks!
It would be tricky to do automatically since instance domains can be anything, but it could be done with a context menu option.
I am working on a web app where this is one of the features i want to have, but the biggest issue i’m facing is that the same post from different instances have different id, and I am not sure if there is a way to get the id of a post in a different instance… If anyone has an idea of how to do this I’d love to know!
I think I’ve seen a userscript for this.
Looks like they will redirect communities/magazines but not actual posts/threads.
I would love this as well!!
Not Lemmy specific but check out Redirector. It probably works with redirecting between communities but I’m not sure if it can redirect between posts since the IDs of the same posts are different between servers.
Not that I know of but I use libredirect.
