A Moscow court found him guilty of displaying “symbols of extremist organisations” on Thursday.

Since the start of Russia’s war in Ukraine, thousands have been handed prison terms or fines for criticising the invasion or supporting Ukraine.

The student was arrested on Wednesday morning in Moscow, after a police officer had reported the network name to authorities.

They expose themselves to risks simply by living in Russia.

Holy hell. That is absolutely not how the world works. People have no choice in the circumstances of their birth and frankly not a whole lot of control over their lives either. Such behavior is reckless and shows a wanton disregard for other human beings.

Please stop. Putting random people at risk of having their lives destroyed by the authoritarian regime in which they were born into is so incredibly shameful.

What an incredible display of emotional immaturity. So much so I assume this must be trolling.

      Grow up. Quickly.

Edit: make yourself useful and target people that matter if you need to express yourself. I hear Putin and everyone connected to him is a good choice.

State-connected polling agencies have published results purportedly showing strong support for the war. The government-controlled pollster VTsIOM claimed on March 5 that 71 percent of Russians support what the state calls the “special military operation” in Ukraine. On March 3, another state-controlled agency, FOM, reported a poll conducted on February 25-27 that found 65 percent of Russians supported the war.

Also “not their choise”? I can assure you that these statistics are true.

I feel like state connected polling agencies would be biased while reporting such statistics.

1)Did you see the big protests? As far as I know, only a few thousand people protested in 2022. 2)I personally bought stolen Telegram accounts. Most of them were russians under the age of 18. Most of the accounts contained subscriptions to such channels as “Z war”, “dead ukrainians” and so on. So, personally, I believe in these statistics.

That’s not how dictatorships work. In most cases, people have to be careful and fearful to avoid being detected and sentenced, even if they’re actively part of a resistance network. They may have to cover their tracks. Not all of them but many are regular citizen, and you can find putin’s supporters even in the west, that’s how vast his influence is.
