Devon Archer’s attorney said there isn’t enough time for his client to prepare for Wednesday’s hearing before two Republican-led House committees.
Devon Archer, a former business associate of Hunter Biden and a key witness in the GOP impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, has declined an invitation to appear at a public hearing Wednesday before a pair of Republican-led House panels.
Archer’s attorney Matthew Schwartz said Monday that there is not enough time for his client to prepare for the high-profile public hearing held by the House Oversight and Judiciary committees, according to a copy of a letter addressed to House Oversight counsel that was obtained by NBC News.
So… Biden’s son used “do you know who my daddy is?” To try and further his business, the president never had any role in the business, and that’s enough for Republicans to m impeach him?
Where were they when Trump kept using his businesses, still owned by him, to directly make money while he was president?
And Trump overruled to get security clearances to give Jared and Ivanka access to secure information for the roles he gave them in his administration, no way Jared’s firm gets the 2billion Saudi investment without the close ties to the president
On their knees with their mouths full
He has already said he has no first hand knowledge. He’ll end up angering Republicans because he won’t make something up, and Democrats because he’s a waste of time.
But only one group will hang you for angering them.
And its not the Democrats…
historically, this isn’t true. i know about the southern strategy and all, but i also think it’s worth pointing out who did all the lynching. fuck party loyalty.
Im not talking about hystorically, but right now…
Is this some weak attempt at “both sides bad” again? Because we have a lot of that here on lemmy recently.
Careful what you say, I’ve noticed that it has infiltrated the mod team.
strom thurmond was good friends with a certain senator from delaware. the senator who touted his state as “a slave state”.
Strom Thurmond died two decades ago
yea? and his friend from delaware is in the white house.
Strom was also a Republican from 1964 until his death.
If you’re trying to “both sides” this thing, Robert Byrd is the one you’re looking for. He was in the KKK at one point and died 10 years after Thurmond.
Conservatives have always been the problem, regardless of party.
Lol, read a book dude.

The conservatives did all the lynching. The right wing people of the right wing reactionary Democratic Party of the time.
Who did the lynching???
Say it with me: CONSERVATIVES
Who’s still doing the lynching??
Say it with me again for those in the back: CONSERVATIVES
The party name is irrelevant.
Nothing has changed.removed by mod
The people doing the lynching were doing it because they were Klan members, not because they were Democrats, and you know this.

Extrajudicial killings based on perceived wrongs which in no way are proportionally punishable by death? Cops.

This is the best summary I could come up with:
Archer previously appeared for a closed-door transcribed interview with committee investigators in July and testified that he was not aware of any wrongdoing by the president, including, as has been alleged, that he changed U.S. foreign policy in any way to benefit the business dealings of his son Hunter Biden.
Archer was invited to be a part of a panel of witnesses to bolster unproven Republican claims that the president was directly involved in his son’s work and engaged in wrongdoing.
The committees also extended hearing invitations to Hunter Biden and his former business associates Tony Bobulinski and Jason Galanis.
In separate closed-door interviews, Bobulinski and Galanis both claimed that Hunter Biden used his father’s name to help his business prospects, but they provided no direct evidence that the president used his public office to help his son in any way.
His attorney Abbe Lowell last week blasted the scheduled hearing as a “carnival side show.” Lowell said his client would agree to appear at Wednesday’s hearing only if the committees included “relatives of former President Trump,” including the former president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, whom he has also previously represented.
Rebecca Kaplan, Ryan Nobles and Sarah Fitzpatrick reported from Washington and Zoë Richards from New York.
