Absolutely.
Absolutely.

Is that a good idea?
I did it on one of my computers as I wanted a feature that was in 6.14. It didn’t cause any issues, nor should it. I believe the disto maintainer is simply being cautious and not having people auto-upgrade kernels as part of minor version upgrades.

I believe 6.14 is somewhat recent, so it might be just a matter of when each installation file was obtained.
Yeah. If you upgraded to Mint 22.2 from 22.1, you will still be on kernel 6.8. But I believe if you installed via a full install directly to 22.2, you will be on kernel 6.14.
I recommend upgrading your 6.8 installation with a fresh download from your preferred source and a full reinstall.
You can upgrade the Mint kernel to 6.14 via Software Update Manager > View > Linux Kernels. No full reinstall required.
Though, OP, unless there is a specific reason to change it or you just like doing so, I would leave it alone: don’t fix things that aren’t broken.

If it’s on the distros, don’t fret it too much. They all do everything, it’s just an initial configuration.
I have been recommending Mint specifically, as it targets the average user with a ‘it just works’ mentality.

Any specific things you are getting stuck on?

Thank you for being the only person in the thread to answer the question.

As an aside, Rapid Dragon is pretty damn cool, and I see it as the future of cruise missile deployment. It is by far the simplest and cheapest way to deploy cruise missiles en-mass. Mostly because it lets you use your existing air-lift capability, rather than requiring specialized platforms for deployment.
Note: It won’t replace VLS cells, which are the way to do naval and ground launched missile deployment. Take a look at HIMARS, which is basically a smaller VLS cell erector/launcher:

I think it’s the latter. I suspect tomahawk’s software assumes they are being initially fired in roughly the ‘up’ direction (see every iteration so far of anything that fires a tomahawk). This would present issues when deployed as part of rapid dragon, which dumps missiles in roughly the ‘down’ direction when leaving the pallet. There is no technical reason this cannot be accounted for in the software, I simply suspect it hasn’t been. Modifying and testing the software would take time.
Since they are already fired out of a VLS cell, something that is purposefully modular and unconcerned to what it is attached to, we have lots of great ground-based options. All you really need to do is get the VLS cell roughly vertical and you are good to go.

I’m curious to see is what happens as Russia’s artillery gets scarcer and scarcer. That one is a particularly slow burn, unfortunately.
Really we need the US and Europe to provide long range cruise missiles in quantity. Shutting down (even just drastically slowing) Russia’s manufacturing is the quickest way to finish the war.

Humans do find it easier to see moving objects. So, sitting still, particularly if the drone has a poor feed, is a pretty decent strategy.
Did not work here…not at all.

Mmm, very true.

Jaguar as a car brand completely imploded last year. It wasn’t clear if they would even make cars again.
It still isn’t clear if they will be profitable at making cars.

Fucking Merkel. Now is the time for unity against the invader. Not finger pointing at allies.
And Merkel bears no fault in this I suppose?
Seriously. And since Merkel got the fingers pointing, let’s talk about Merkel. Merkel was instrumental in getting Germany hooked on Russian gas. They even publicly laughed at people pointing it out. Merkel, when even Trump makes you look bad, you are making some horrible decisions.
Then when Russia invaded Ukraine for the second time, what did Germany do? Well, they did they only thing they could do as they setup no alternative plan: they shoveled money into Russia’s coffers, funding their invasion of Ukraine. Took them years to fix this issue.
Yeah, active PoE is the only kind worth buying. Passive PoE is an accident waiting to happen.

why would anyone think they could open up a few more fronts against well armed NATO countries?
Russia could do this. It would just suck really hard for everyone, including Russia. Dictators who are currently running their country into the ground often do really, really stuipid shit.
The response to these incursions are to give Ukraine the capabilities to destroy Russian war production. Upset by Russian drone incursions into NATO countries? Give Ukraine long-range cruise missiles and let them blow up Russian drone factories. Russia understands strength, the course of action is to respond with strength.

Not all of us know what this is. Can you expand on your thoughts?

That door gunner almost certainly isn’t. And, at least one of the pilots lived at least long enough to land it.
Past that, hard to tell from the video.

The BIOS on that is clearly a bit odd, I haven’t seen that as a requirement before. That said, the BIOS battery is probably dead. Replace that and it should fix the issue.
Luckily, there are half a dozen invaders who won’t be doing much invading today.
