Yeah being in power will moderate Hi… Trump!
The strength of life to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.
Yeah being in power will moderate Hi… Trump!
I have family very seriously investigating citizenship to another country via ancestry.
This is what I’d actually advise most people who realistically are in a position where they can move: Get out. Don’t try to right the listing ship, you got more pressing personal issues (I bet). Just move, there are better places than the US, and that’s not even difficult to achieve. For all their individual flaws and their own right-wing parties and their rise and all, most non-US western countries at least have a higher standard of living and actual public service such as universal healthcare and shit.
Hire all white people and the trump Nazis are perfectly happy?
Yes, and it’s inherently designed not to be.
But it also bears repeating that decentralization by itself has no advantage, either.
The only thing worse than code that should be working not working is code where you’re sure it won’t work, but then it actually works!
It sometimes feels as if the medical and scientific knowledge of people who are hardline against animal testing at all is exactly that and only that thinking, yes.
Always test in production!
Extra environments cost money. Testers cost money. Users pay to use your software and test it for free!
Mastodon did it to themselves.
There’s a reason Bluesky has a UI that’s more or less exactly like old Twitter. It makes for a smooth transfer.
I mean, I feel it’s a misunderstanding of what users actually use social media for.
Just of top of your head, can you list three reasons they want to join the Fediverse for a “normal” Reddit user? Because I struggle to name one, nevermind three. There’s all the technical reasons, ethical stuff, etc. But that’s all something that enthusiasts would consider, and it goes against how the vast vast majority of users use social media where the more centralized the better as it multiplicatively expands the pool of content and interactions to have everyone centralized.
The Fediverse shows this, in fact! Note how resistant users are to spread over instances, in fact being always after centralizing on the bigger ones. But this isn’t a bad thing really, as it’s simply the nature of social media. Of course far less necessary on federated stuff, but there’s also no reason not to (again, from the perspective of someone wanting to use social media, not advocate).
It’s not an easy thing to do to get users here. The place inherently doesn’t appeal to those it would need to appeal to.
I mean to be fair that’s a niche event in a niche sports form in one backwards country that can’t even get their gov in order. 😛
Jokes aside, it’s sad how far these agents/helpers have degraded. From the comparatively glorious Google Now that was black magic and would pull out tickets as you approached the starting point, recommend clothes and gear for weather at your destination and if you wandered around a few seconds told you where you parked your car, to nowadays being some AI slop that hallucinates shit constantly.
Hey just the last 2 weeks I had two separate friends be ripped off on ebay. Yeah it has improved, but it’s still a ton of scummy shit.
This must be very different in the US because over here eBay would be like just lighting your money on fire (since you have 0 recourse or reimburse options while Amazon’s primary upside is how trivial replacement and reimbursements are). I mean de-amazon sure, but not for a place that’s as anti-consumer as can be, which of course makes sense for actual second-hand purchases where you have no legal liabilities by the seller anyways.
Not too be confused with the Masturbatron.
Sadly a lot of EU states are staring down a similar barrel of mass-illiteracy and mass-stupidity being exploited via the rich controlling the media. Look at the rise of the AfD in Germany of all countries, for example.
He’s rich, and some utter idiots believed him when he insisted he must be smart. That’s the natural outcome of that combination.
.ml
is fascists, so why would they mind Trump? He’s their glorious leader?
None, and that’s probably a good thing. And also really not unexpected given how small the platform is.
And the fediverse will be there to catch them.
Ah yes, just like it happened with Twitter! (or you’re not talking about average person but techies)
Only relevant stuff is mentioned. 😛
Oh it couldn’t have happened to a better bunch! 😈
