The team has given us a series of neolibs since 1976.
I’ll probably pull the lever for Biden, but I don’t begrudge anyone who goes for a third option or doesn’t vote.

If the Dems actually believed Trump were a threat to democracy, and that fundamental liberties would be lost, they wouldn’t be running a man clearly in decline with a running mate who has zero constituency and an even lower approval rating.
The DNC and web scolds don’t get to bitch about third-party voters, when they obviously assessed the situation and thought, “This is fine.”
If the Dems can’t be arsed to respond seriously to Trump, the rest of us are under no obligation to fix their wagon.
Yeah, it’s nice that she did some good stuff decades ago, but her immediate legacy is dog shit.
This is a knowable thing that a bunch of us have personally witnessed since ‘76. Dems at the height of their power have not raced to deliver a full tranche of left legislation. Instead, they game to “not go too far,” and the GOP retakes because voters’ lives were not radically improved, and the difference between the parties isn’t particularly visible, beyond a few social issues.
They were briefly fairly free in the ‘90s, but the experience of their version of the shock doctrine was so painful that the people begged to be ruled again.
Return to office.
The performance envelopes of vehicles sharing bike lanes these days are wildly different. I dread the day that RTO is complete, and rush-hour bike lanes are shared by e-bikes, e-unicycles, one-wheels, push scooters, e-standup-scooters, smaller sit-scooters, monkey bikes, e-skateboards, skateboards, and whatever else I’m missing.
Years ago, I heard an NPR piece about a French -ologist of some kind, who was revolutionizing advertising in the States, and he mentioned a small car that consumers viewed as saying “Rape me!” We are all driving around in jacked up station wagons, because of some weird, atavistic urges to feel inviolable and cosseted.
Fundamentally, SUVs are an inefficient design for a passenger car. Even small crossovers, and I drive one myself, are inefficient relative to a station wagon offering the same volume and space for passengers and cargo.
SUVs burn relatively more gas, they use more tires, they damage roads more, they are less controllable due to higher centers of gravity, they have poorer visibility of pedestrians and cyclists, and they require shitloads of engineering just to hide their shitty performance and safety characteristics.
That’s England.
Until the majority of voters who lived through ‘91 to ‘00 die off, he’s fine.
Someone, in an aside to a comment on Reddit a few days ago, seemed to suggest she was prepaid $2.5MM. I haven’t looked up to confirm.
The Pod Save Johns said he was called Dr. Feelgood by Obama’s WH staff.
It’s interesting that even MSNBC, stalwart bastion of resistance lib blather, never mentions that Donald’s father, Fred, developed Alzheimer’s.
I’m going to accept your lived experience as a stroke expert.
This is not a smart take. It’s basically conspiracy thinking.
Otherwise, the Supreme Court is clearly partisan, because Alito and Thomas unashamedly contort into any position needed to face the MAGA base, and Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Coney Barrett will typically tend to do so in any issue involving civil rights or business interests.
The GOP is the body that executes the will of whatever conservatism is at any moment; they are inseparable at the executional level. The doctrinal vehicle the GOP uses to get where it’s going is originalism, but the great thing about justices playing professional-amateur historians is that they can cherry-pick history to suit party-doctrinal needs.
I have a vague memory that apartheid South Africa hooked them up with the bomb.
That was very helpful, thanks!
Only problem I have left is getting NGINX Reverse Proxy Manager set up, so that I can offer Overseerr webpage. The Let’s Encrypt cert generator keeps throwing an internal error at the last step. Something is preventing LE from reaching my server, and I’m too clueless to solve at this point.
The intellectual and professional desert of center-lib media is fascinating: The same rotating cast of five MSNBC guests who are on every day, all day, are now primary fodder for print stories trying to get in on wishcasting monetization, like this Guardian piece. Newsweek and HuffPost literally report MSNBC show opinions now, like they’re news.
There are hundreds of qualified law professors and law firm partners with either deep legal theory or direct practice experience relevant to the Trump cases, but good luck hearing from them. Instead, we get Vance, Litman, Katyal, McQuade, and Weissman, all day every day, and now also in print.
This desert isn’t good for us. The MSNBC wishcasting monetization model left Americans poorly prepared for the Mueller outcome. The guy was canonized as a genius Marine Superman who would undoubtedly smite Trump; other professional voices weren’t invited on.
I have a vague memory of a $10B cash shipment going missing in Afghanistan.
Doesn’t Florida block homesteads from being grabbed by creditors in bankruptcy proceedings?
