Beat me to it!

Replacing all those munitions with clay makes a big difference.
Extra points if you can pump all the air out, then it can’t even catch fire!

Ironic big dick energy.

Why is this in not the onion?

Hidden behind the lede: DJI automated vacuums require constantly sending their footage abroad to even work in the first place
Oh em gee…

What the fuck!
I just read the article, and I think it’s completely misrepresenting the bill! From what I can see, the article is just inventing this link to the chemtrails conspiracy.
Does this bill ever mention the word “chemtrails” or “contrails”, at all?
From what I can tell, the bill is completely talking about cloud seeding, which is definitely its own thing. Cloud seeding is fraught enough, it’s a relatively complicated issue with very serious environmental impacts, it does not need to be mixed up chemtrails which are a bullshit conspiracy theory (the opposite of a serious issue).
Hey Alabama Political Reporter go find your journalistic integrity, I think you dropped it somewhere.

In his defense, the comment didn’t say shit about breakthrough research, it said “watch this”.
Say what you want to say and people won’t dismiss it. Link to something random and who knows.

Yeah, to assert that there is no alien life out there is really the more bold position. We don’t have real evidence to support either side of the argument so any strong assertion (for or against) is rather dubious.

I hear he hangs out with anonymous, from the Internet!
That’s pretty awesome! I may have gotten old, but I never got tired of learning stuff about dinosaurs prehistoric beasts.
So what’s the deal with the pterosaurs, what makes them “not dinosaurs”? I believe the really weird looking silhouette is a Quetzalcoatlus, that’s just fun to say.

Without knowing anything about the issue, I can guarantee Tennessee energy policies are to blame. And if I had to guess, it’s probably the fault of favoring “free market” over “reasonable regulation” and consumer protection type policies.
Ok, well first off, hunting spiders are a thing, so arachnids can be effective predators without webs. Let’s suppose that hunting spiders evolved first and web spinning came later (I have no actual knowledge of spider evolution, but let’s go with it).
So what do those hunting spiders use web for? I believe they use them to make those fuzzy egg sacks or nests, so protective structures in general. I could totally see that evolving first, the ability to make silk for building nests. Actually many different species have evolved something like that, using excretions to aid in nest building, birds, ants, fish, caterpillars, other insects, it’s actually a relatively common trait to develop. Nests are good for hiding, protection from the elements and thermal insulation, a home is nice to have!
I could see it become beneficial if some spiders then developed sticky nests, sometimes bugs might wander in and get stuck, free meal. And then after that, some might develop larger nests, the greater the area of this sticky nest, the more effective it is. And that basically gets us to modern sliders spiders.

Honestly, I prefer this.
I can stand behind my words.
Meeting with the House Committee on Space…
This sounds like a workable plan, but the first stage of the shed needs to be built in Houston. Also the shed door is an issue, doors are traditionally handled here at Goddard.
But… this proposal completely ignores my constituents from California, they will need to be included somehow! If you want this proposal to go through at all, find something for JPL and AMES to do.

So, as much as it is a symbol of balance, it’s also historically a tool used by Christians (or more accurately their kings) to paint their targets as ‘evil’ or ‘demonic’.
Honestly, this is a really important takeaway. A whole lot of satanism/demon worshipping fears come down to this: rather than being a legitimate concern, it’s largely just a tool used to villianize others and play on the preconceptions of Christians.

Ok, I did say “why does this matter to anyone?”, and you’re right about the land owner, clearly it matters to them. Fair enough.
But you also said that we can care about more than one thing at a time. And while I agree with that up to a point, I think you can’t use that mindset all the time.
I made a reply to a very similar response below, (I don’t want to spam the thread with repeat comments, so I’ll just link to it) https://lemmy.world/comment/21477093

I think that’s actually a really good answer. There needs to be strict adherence to codes of conduct within the military, or we get all kinds of problems.
At least the article suggests that the situation is mostly under control, it certainly sounds like they’re going to try to crack down on this.
Edit: funny to see this get down voted. Why down vote a concession?

In reality you can, indeed, care about multiple issues at the same time
You say that, but I am learning first hand that I have a finite capacity for injustice and misery. I see awful shit in the news, sometimes far away, but sometimes very close to home and I see it every day. It takes a toll on your mental health, caring about everything, taking a moment to ask yourself “is there something I can do about this?” - it’s especially hard when the answer you come up with is “not really”.
I think one really does have a limited amount of bandwidth for this kind of thing, and we absolutely have a limited amount of time. So even if you did care about everything, it’s certainly not feasible to act on everything. And just carrying all those concerns that you know you’re never going to act on, that cannot be healthy.
Sometimes you just need to let something go, say “this is not my concern”. I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with that, so long as you make an effort to decide which things are important enough to care about, even when you’re at your limit.
Yeah, I mean it was most overtly a commentary on climate change, but to a great extent it really was about the problems with current politics.
I’m right there with you, it was infuriating, and absolutely right, and great, so now what do I do?
