I thought they made a big point about not monetizing the video during the video. With the whole “and now our sponsor…”, “Just kidding” stuff. Was it actually set for YouTube monetization?

When you’re leaving a parking spot and backing out all the same logic applies that these bozos use to justify backing in
I agree that attacking someone for their opinion is just silly but I honestly do not agree with this statement. People, and more importantly pedestrians, know what you are doing when you are backing into a spot and are therefore less likely to walk behind you. This is not the case when backing out of a spot. They might not even know someone is in the vehicle. Add in little kids running out of nowhere. You have a lot better situational awareness while backing in versus backing out since your field of view is not obstructed by up to three sides by cars. I do not think the difference is catastrophic by any means but, to me at least, there is a difference.
Yep, super annoying and you will get the same thing, but for Chrome, when hitting Google sites in Edge or Firefox.
I would imagine that they are looking for IP addresses of known VPNs.
Yeah, that’s the thing. Even though xBROKEx would probably win in court, it would bankrupt them in lawyer fees.
The web is federated in theory but that does not stop the larger companies from monopolizing the traffic. Think of Reddit, Google, etc. as a federated instance of the WWW.
From my experience if you already have the files there it will just start seeding right away automatically once it confirms the files are already present. I guess it varies from client to client.
It really comes down to the degree. Someone could spend significantly less to get an IT related degree and start out making more than what your wife currently makes with, probably, a much better work life balance. That person could easily double that in a few years.
Honestly, we simply do not value health care and teachers as much as we should.
r/NeutralNews and r/NeutralPolitics were both bad for that. They had two auto-posts and, since I am slow, I clicked on them every time to the comments just to see the boilerplate auto-posts.
I think this is where I lucked out when I had so many issues creating an account on lemmy.world. I ended up making an account at thelemmy.club instead and it seems I can see and respond to all content from here so far.
I have not seen the need to manage multiple accounts so far. I am logged into thelemmy.club but am subscribed to lemmy.world which works fine since it is federated. I am able to reply to you from thelemmy.club. Most of the content I follow is from other (non club) servers and have not had any issues interacting with people.
If they were complaining about the runaway tuition fees crippling people with student debt, they might have had a point.
No worries, still good to know as I never noticed that button.
I just tried again and still cannot get past the Sign Up screen. Odd.
I meant to temporarily filter NSFW from showing in the feed but a quicker/easier way than toggling it in settings.
I dug around and found that which is nice but I wish they put it more prominent in the UI. In the filter section would be great.
I would like to know how they managed to register. I tried since Monday, kept getting the spinning circle on the Submit button, and finally created an account on another server.
I got a MikroTik router and never looked back. That thing is amazing.
