  • Streaming video is expensive. LTT did it with Floatplane, even going so far as to develop their own backend. Watcher and some other YouTubers did it with Vimeo as their backend, but Vimeo still takes a large cut.

At the end of the day, people are doing this, but YouTube still offers a compelling value compared to other platforms. It’s hard to beat their scale, sophistication, and the discoverability of their platform.

  • Ideally you drain window units every couple of weeks, when you clean the filters. Once a year a deeper cleaning is a good idea. One where you take the cover off, clean all the built up gunk out, and then let it dry. You can use a cleaning spray specific for air conditioners, or even just water for a significant improvement.

I typically use the cheapest “no rinse” cleaning spray for air conditioners that Home Depot sells, a toothbrush, and lots of water before/after. It really extends the life of the unit, preventing the build up of mold and improving the units efficiency.

  • No shit? I’ve clearly not done any research on the internet before typing my comment. There is no way I already read the article you posted. /s

That said, I’m guessing this is the part of the article you were referring to?

But uh, is Armstrong a Scientologist?

That’s the big question! Armstrong has never publicly identified with the Church of Scientology, though she did attend a gala in 2013. More recently, Armstrong supported actor and prominent Scientologist Danny Masterson at his 2020 rape trial, where he was convicted on two counts.

To summarize, she showed up to a single preliminary court date in 2020, but cut contact after details emerged? She also attended a gala a decade ago where her family was present? That’s not really proof of anything.

  • For what it’s worth, this is the only article I can find that says it was for burning “plantations.”

    From NBC News

The official said that while the weapon was not sanctioned by military leadership, the troops were fulfilling a legitimate military task of burning away thick shrubbery along the border where Hezbollah fighters sometimes hide.

Or, if you prefer an outlet with a different perspective…

    From Middle East Eye

Israeli media suggested that launching projectiles into Lebanon was aimed at exposing Hezbollah fighters using the dense foliage as cover in the area. It could also be in preparation for a ground invasion.

  • I don’t know what to tell you other than are straight up believing propaganda my human. Like, your empathy with the Palestinians is commendable, but your lack of empathy for Israelis is abhorrent.

I’ll make a few statements about what I see in the situation, but picking through every piece of disinformation is exhausting and I don’t have the time to continually engage with you at this time.

    1. Palestinians are suffering and dying horribly in Gaza in very unjust ways.

    2. Netanyahu wants to expand Israel, and doesn’t believe in a two state solution.

    3. Netanyahu does not want the conflict to end without a major victory, because his political career is over once the conflict is.

    4. The hard right of Israel doesn’t care about the suffering of the Palestinians.

    5. Hamas is brutal, effective, and in many ways immoral.

    6. Hamas does not believe in a two state solution, wishes to destroy the nation of Israel, calling for the removal or killing of all Jews in Israel.

    7. Hamas does not want this conflict to end because it benefits their goals. They gain international support, and power when Palestinians suffer and die.
