Hi, I’m a chef. I’m just playing around with raspberry pis and stuff. I just like learning and seeing what I can do.

My work was evacuated once for a fire alarm (false) and we all kinda stood around waiting for the firemen to come and let us back in. While we waited we chatted. But I realised that I couldn’t understand what the people four feet away from me were saying. I could hear the noises coming from their mouths, but I couldn’t understand them. When the alarm was switched off, I could understand them.
Brain is weird.
So we aren’t using an unauthorised copy?
I had an Acer laptop once. I had Ubuntu on it. I had problems with random crashing after a few minutes, I ran memtest, it took a few hours for a full test and came back with a whole slew of faults. I sent it to Acer under warranty and they told me that Linux was the problem and I should leave windows on it.
My grandma used to water the garden around the house and spray water over the roof on hot days. Try that first.
Maybe just teleporters that don’t work with living tissue.
And don’t forget the division. A piece of shit, is bad, like a car that won’t start, or a selfish person. A big piece of shit or a huge piece of shit is worse, but it’s never a whole shit, because then it would be The shit, and good.
I’m hoping for a future without money. Where everyone can get what they need and want.
If you can put together Lego with the instructions or IKEA furniture, you’ll be fine. It took me three tries, and I learnt stuff from each mistake, so the worst that can happen is you learn.
It’s a heavy crown to wear.
Call them by their chosen name. Basic Finns.
Work. I’m a chef and my nightmares are mostly along the lines of arriving at a strange kitchen, finding out nothing has been prepped, and I have half an hour to make 20 pans of lasagne but there’s no tomatoes, only 2kg of pork, and the ovens are stuck at 300°C.
Ironically my best dreams are about a zombie apocalypse . And I’m the guy with the chainsaw and shotgun.
I live in Finland and so the seasonal daylight varies from almost none in winter to always in summer. I got a smart socket connected to my grow lamps for all my plants. I used to have an analogue timer that I would have to keep changing the times on as the season progressed. The smart one now turns on when my alarm goes off in the morning and turns off an hour after sunrise, turns on again an hour before sunset and turns off at bedtime.
No messing about anymore, it’s one less thing to worry about.
I haven’t played with it but I installed tandoor.dev ready for when I get time to look at it.
In a lot of places, if an establishment has a liquor licence, it is forbidden to drink your own alcohol you brought from outside. Technically you can’t bring a beer back to your hotel room from anywhere but the hotel’s own bar.
Alcohol laws are complicated.
I got banned on Facebook for saying “fatty acids” because “fatty” is a bad word.
Plus tax. Finland is stopping everything from outside EU and demanding proof that tax is paid. So I have to look at the prices with postage and add 24%.
RAM is no longer relevant. QSG (Quantum Stacked Gates) is used for both RAM and file storage, being both near infinite (exabytes per gram) and near lightspeed to access. The NVIDIA QWVA (Quantum Wormhole Visual Actuliser) handles the rendering of Virtual Space to my GE neural lace (Perfected by GE after Musk’s bankruptcy). The “CPU” is a DQERISC (Decentralized Quantum Entangled RISC) array boasting 64k threads at the equivalent of 8.4PHz.
Only been used off world though, everyone on Earth just uses the Mesh, much faster.
Running Arch with Linux kernel 69.420.9.99.999.999.9999.9999.372 (Linus said “Nice” when it got to 69.420, and died soon after so now it will always keep the same version number) btw.
Years ago in Germany, some people worked out the odds of getting caught without a ticket and found that it wasn’t worth buying a ticket. They formed a group and if anyone got fined, they all paid the fine together. Then when the government found out, they doubled the fine.
