- Mbin
- Misskey forks (I use CherryPick, but Sharkey is good too)
- PeerTube
- PieFed
- Mastodon
Hello! That’s my main mbin account, my alt is @Fitik, I also have a furry/personal account at @fitik
I’m just a regular person from Israel🇮🇱, a queer, and a #Fediverse enthusiast! I’m a liberal
I don’t post much stuff, but when I do I usually post about #tech
Seems like the instance owner got burned out, happens sadly
I’ve Loops and can use it, I was in the wait-list and I got an email letting me reset password(3 days ago), and with this new password I was able to log into the Loops apk and website
I’m pretty sure it’s on the PeerTube roadmap - https://joinpeertube.org/news/peertube-future-2024
@JupiterRowland@sh.itjust.works
CherryPick is developed in Japan. I wouldn’t count on any of the devs, much less all of them, being fluent in English or anything else that isn’t Japanese
My main instance runs on CherryPick ( https://kitty.social ), CherryPick is pretty much developed by one dev NoriDev, they have a discord server and they speaks English, also they’re Korean, not Japanese
It’s also one of the oldest Misskey forks as it exists from 2021 (Sharkey was forked in 2023 if I’m not mistaken)
This site has a lot of info about Misskey forks
@ALostInquirer@lemm.ee
I use TikTok (around a hour a day) and use the Fediverse too(Mbin and Misskey fork), so I guess I am a target audience, so they do touch, pfft
Also there’s Pixelfed userbase, I think they would like short form video platform, cause Instagram has it
There’s also @zenbrowser@fosstodon.org , it’s firefox-based as well
As far as I’m aware, Mastodon blocks work the same way they’ll work on Twitter now - The person you blocked can see your posts, but can’t interact with you
Edit: Actually, I was wrong the person you blocked can’t see your posts on Mastodon
Streams too, it’s called “Nomadic Identity” there on the Fediverse
I guess the closest experience you can get is if you’ll just block all meme communities
Idk if you can do it on Lemmy, but on MBin you can block communities (magazines)
@sturlabragason@lemmy.world There’s is one on @swf@socialwebfoundation.org ( !swf@socialwebfoundation.org ) , I don’t know what they haven’t linked it
@deadsuperhero@lemmy.world
@deadsuperhero@lemmy.world Btw, if you’re using Mbin you can follow them directly from there! Their account is @swf@socialwebfoundation.org ( !swf@socialwebfoundation.org )
@Blaze@feddit.org I just want to note that it’s a feature request on GitHub right now, it was already implemented on KBin (even tho in a bit weird way), so it’s definitely possible
https://github.com/MbinOrg/mbin/issues/484
@erlend_sh@lemmy.world @FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone
There’s a list on the Mbin’s website, I’m surprised it wasn’t mentioned yet
I can recommend these instances:
The later two are run by mbin devs so they should be pretty good
Additionaly there’s !AskMbin@fedia.io magazine, so you can ask questions there instead.
I thought it was more like transfem.social drama, no?
Same with me, I migrated from Firefish to Sharkey, I hope I’ll not need to migrate software again, but oh well, who knows, if I’ll have to, I’ll prob still stick to *key
@boredsquirrel@slrpnk.net Same, PeerTube has so much good and interesting content, this content just doesn’t get exposure because of bad discoverability
@Flatworm7591@lemmy.dbzer0.com
@boredsquirrel@slrpnk.net I like GrayJay, even tho I find their integration of PeerTube quite lacking.
@Flatworm7591@lemmy.dbzer0.com
True, but I see it more like a BlueSky PDS (instance) than a separate service build on top of AT protocol
Btw you can even follow Bridgy from MBin, but federation doesn’t work very well @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy
There are 2 other services AFAIK, however they’re very barebone
