Point 1 is only true for the bavarian countryside far away from big cities though. Munich itself is actually quite progressive. Not as left as Berlin for sure, but as a berliner in munich i was quite surprised that my prejudices about conservative bavarians didnt hold at all.

Munich has a lot oft industry and company headquaters. Most people have a good job and a gold life. Thats something i felt in the City as well. The people have fewer problems than in other areas, enjoy Cafés and bars , and speak less about politics than in other german cities (although they do habe opinions and vote). In the one Hand i like this athomsphere of people enjoying their lives in the other Hand i find it quite strange not to speak about the daily events.

Also poverty does exists its just not as visible AS in other german cities. People themselves Seen to hide it as long aS they can. And the real poor people linke homless people are checked by the bavarian police so offen that they avoid the City center. Of course the City looks “nicer” this way but to me thats just in humann. Many people dont know this and are shocked when they come to other german cities with More homeless people visible. They tend to say " wow munich is much better - no poor people". Thats not true. they exist but are forced to hide vor go to other cities.

If you have a true Aloe vera at home, cut one leave of it about the length you need. cut it longitudinally in two halves and put them with the gel side on the skin. Fix it with a bandage or so and leave it for hours until its dry.

Still, the people on permanent positions are rare and act as the masterminds behind the research rather than doing research themselves. Professors are guiding their PhDs and postdocs through experiments and writing. If all these people that are more or less early in their careers that are working on Grant money get defunded, than even Professors cannot really do science anymore cause they lack the staff… And of course this future Generation of Professors is looking for other Jobs or leaving the US if they can.

Most of the Museums are free for people younger than 18 anyways. But for adults the Museum pass is a great advice.

The Futurium is a quite cool new Museum. Located close to the Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Main Station). Its for free. Its a Museum about the future with lots of interesting stuff on for example future of medicine, future of transport and so on. It has a positive view on many topics even though it of course adresses also the problems. Just super cool and very interactive.

Not only in School, even at university I was taught the DNA structure was solved by Watson und Crick. But they stole data from Rosalind franklin and even openly admitted it years later.

Leguano is very comfy and super quality, but comes with a high price.

Groundies are comfy and look really cool - people don’t notice its barefood shoes and the price is reasonable.

I do not mean that automobiles are not Innovation. I just wanted to underline that your view on medicine Innovation being just a further evolution of already existing medicine and is therefore not Innovation or original sounds in my (scientist) ears exactly as if one would claim cars are nothing new because we had bycicles with wheels already.

Of course cars and planes are big Innovations. But so is New medinice (and also other sciences). Completely New concepts. Its just very hard to grasp if you havent studied it.

I understand your question wanting to know about New big shit. But if you say all inventions in medince in the past decades is “just” a little improvement of existing medicine but not Innovation, then your examples oft cars and airplanes are not invention either but just a little improvemenrt of mobility. Bikes and trains existed before wie had mobility it just got faster, and a few nore wheels and wings.

Ill think the Problem why medicine and science Innovation in General is not perceived as that dramatifc is because you need to be a scientist (or really read yourself Into it) to understand. The incredible steps forward wee make are so complex it cannot be explained to the General public anymore.

You See the big obvious stuff (Gravitation, electricity) wie know now. You cannot write a PhD thesis anymore discovering electricity or evolution.

Nowadays PhD thesis are about inventing nanoparticless in a way they only go to a very specific tissue type (cancerous) to destroy it there locally. Anymore Detail Into this requirees extensive research. But its still super innovative.

I really like the german “Geburtstagskind”. It refers to a Person whose birthday is today but literally translates to “birthday child”. However you use it for any age. If its your grandfathers 80st birthday he still is the birthday child this day. Usually people just use the word without thinking about it , but i really like the idea that everyone can get childish again on their birthday. :)

Netherlands and scandinavian countries have a lot of courses in english. And ireland of course. Also in germany slowly but steadily english courses are more offered. I would advise you to srudy in english because its hard to study in a foreign language even if you already speak it very good. However i also advise you to learn the local language to connect better to people and culture.

I know what you speak of. I am of course unhappy or disappointed or frustrated ih certain situation, but really rarely angry. In those rare situations its usually not longer than 5 to 10 min. In situations my friends are angry I am more often sad. Only once in my life (let’s say after 5yo) I shouted at someone - to defend a good friend who was treated incredibly unjust. That’s 17 years ago…

I never hated anyone. I think I could hate some politicians but I know them not personally so I cannot have that much emotion for them. For people I know I always have explanations for their behavior keeping me from being angry about them. Still wanting excusions so I am not excusing them for their actions but knowing (or thinking I know) why they behave like they do I cannot be angry. I think its too much emapthy in my case?
