My lucky ass bought a house in late 2019. I’m happy I’m making money on it but this doesn’t seem healthy

I don’t know why but there’s something about this I find really unsettling
Like I have seen horrible imagery of people being droned and disemboweled and that time a Russian T-72 fired on a Ukrainian squad point blank. All that will be with me forever.
Somehow I feel this will be too. There’s a sick symbolism to seeing a war machine uncontrollably digging itself into the ground. Helpless to stop its own spiral downward
I just switched back to Linux a week ago (Ubuntu Studio 24.04) from windows. I used to use Linux 15 years ago and I tried a lot of distros at that time. Eventually I landed on Crunchbang which I loved dearly.
Since it’s been awhile I wanted something fairly vanilla so Ubuntu Studio felt like a good start. I was planning on switching to something else (I hear we have Crunchbang++ now) after getting used to Linux again but I have kind of settled in to Ubuntu now. It feels a little sloppy but comfortable somehow.
The problem is what you’re looking for is far less common than it used to be.
The bottom has dropped out of the market. Cars under a certain value are usually scrapped and/or parted out. You will find them occasionally but it’s getting rare. In my local area I find that Craigslist has the best selection of beaters, but it’s still difficult to find anything worthwhile under $4000.
Might be time to consider a motorcycle, scooter, or e-bike of you can make it work
Edit: one more thing. There are ways to browse FB marketplace without an account.
I recommend autotempest as it searches multiple sites.
Allegorical, but I have 2008 Mercedes C300 (W204). I purchased it in 2017 with 90k miles and I’m currently at 190k. It’s still my daily driver and overall I remain pretty happy with it.
The tl;dr of this car has been toyota-like reliability with maintenance/repairs being uncommon but more costly when they need to be done. I wouldn’t assume my experience is indicative of Mercedes overall.
I’m not a mechanic but I am an engineering technician and test driver in automotive T&V
I gotta ask what’s with the Kermit, Sailor Moon, Heathcliff filters?
I used to use DuckDuckGo but I found it wasn’t very good. Haven’t tried in a few years though
You beautiful bastard, that’s exactly the kind of thing I was looking for.
I’m bookmarking that page. Thank you!
I’m so frustrated with the internet right now. My wife started making Castile soap and I’m trying to find out if its some fu-fu-berry-bullshit or like an actual decent soap. Google is feeding me momfluencers (which range from ‘fine but there is no accountability’ to blatant grifters) and sites that are simply trying to sell this stuff. I’m going to try again with kagi tonight, but it’s still very frustrating that I never know what to trust anymore. The bullshit is coming faster than I’m able to handle it

Also on Lineage and loving it
The correct answer is ‘moon’ obviously
What time do you take moon lunch?
A couple months ago I got to see him live. It was the best show I’ve ever been to
It does Mastodon and Pixelfed but not Lemmy as far as I’m aware
I want something that combines my Lemmy, Mastodon, and Pixelfed into one app/feed. Has anyone made that yet?
Fortnine did a great video on this
This could easily be a joke too
