Welcome to international diplomacy…

The problem is that the map features a contested border.
It would be like Pakistan or India showing up wearing a map of their countries which show they annexed all of Jammu & Kashmir. It isn’t just an expression of national identity at that point.

Well, when Republicans are in power.

The US military has been skittish on regime change since Vietnam, but had a lot of those points reinforced by Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Trump administration is using the military more like Reagan used it, make some quick attacks combined with spy operations and manipulate the chaos to get diplomatic goals achieved. The US doesn’t want to own the rebuilding effort since that is the costly part.

These sorts of attacks is what the US military has been investing in capacity to complete for decades. This is why there has been an investment bleeding edge tech which costs insane amounts of money to develop.

The line has been manipulated several times by Parliament, including the selection and elimination of kings.
The point of the royal family now isn’t to be a defined lineage, but an agreed upon vessel to hold power when Parliament temporarily breaks. Even then, Queen Elizabeth II was kind of shit at it.

Not every war is caused by the USA. Pakistan and Afghanistan have had low level conflicts since Pakistani independence.
I feel like it’s a continuation of what we’ve already seen with digital animation. You can do traditional ink animation, but no one does it any more because digital is so much cheaper.

This is typical for international sporting events.

They tried teaching Spanish in my elementary school with videos that no one paid attention to. A lot of schools don’t even go that far.

But if you’re looking at an American choosing a language based on potential job opportunities, Spanish is likely going to offer far more upside than French unless that American has certain ties which would make French more relevant to them. For large parts of the USA, knowing Spanish will be more locally relevant than knowing French.
It isn’t saying that French is a bad language for Americans to learn, but that most of the country would likely see Spanish as more economically useful.

But we’re talking about economic utility. Quebec isn’t Canada; it is much smaller.
In contrast, Mexico has a GDP near Canada as a whole and there isn’t a bilingual legal framework to support business deals. Furthermore, there are more Spanish speaking countries to make deals with in the Western Hemisphere; the closest that French has is Haiti.

Quebec isn’t Canada.
Having to get documents translated is a cost of doing business in Canada. You don’t have to speak both languages to conduct business in Canada.

They could, if they were economically relevant on the continent. Spanish and Portuguese are far more relevant when interfacing with international trade in the Western Hemisphere.
I pointed out cultural reasons for maintaining a language as well. The USA, as a country, has no current cultural reason to have portions of the country maintain a different language.

It hasn’t really been an economic necessity or cultural priority like other countries.
Most countries who have a population who speak more than one language usually either have a variety of languages spoken within/near the country or rely on ESL speakers to participate in the international workforce.
With English being the current lingua franca, Americans already know the current dominant language. There is really only one major language which is relevant to neighbors, but Americans are usually in the more dominant economic position and there is a cultural aversion to adopting Spanish more.

I also feel like the problem with starting with Marx and getting into socialism as a government type is that Marx was an economist writing about economic forces while a lot of his work has been coopted into political theory.
Which makes discussions on government structure hard with a lot of leftists because once you remove discussing the economics of a society, having a discussion on political freedoms only becomes very problematic.
For instance, I saw some English speaking communists discussing a Chinese analysis of their government, which the analysis states that the Chinese government isn’t a democracy. It is true, China would describe itself as a technocracy, with trained political leaders in charge who are shielded from disruptive democratic whims. However, you could see the issue of them accepting that political power should be held only by elites.

He lived in Scottsdale. He should have Loop 101 instead.

Messy urban warfare.
Assuming cooperation with the Mexican government, the USA would likely launch several raids against cartel strongholds similar to the Maduro raid. Whether the cartel leaders are brought to justice or just immediately assassinated is up for grabs, but I expect several extrajudicial killings.
The situation will devolve as the power vacuum causes additional killings including some punishing of the Mexican federal government. This destabilization is likely going to require an occupation; I expect that the USA would want Mexico to fill those posts first but may get pulled in as the Mexican military runs out of logistical capacity and the US military has to start filling in more and more gaps.
At a point, the war against the cartels becomes viewed as an American occupation instead of an internal Mexican action and it causes the population to turn against both federal governments.
He didn’t even inform Congress before the attack.
