If you’re not gonna adress anything I said, you should reconsider the value of your time here, it’s being wasted.
Oh wait lol, BOT alert, this account was created literally 2 hours ago to shit on people in politics channels.

If Gaza is such a hot topic for you, how do you justify letting someone that absolutely despises muslims and would love to see them eradicated, enter the white house and likely lift all restrictions on Israel and delivery anything they ask for? There’s little doubt that Haris would have changed the situation much at all, but a Trump win basically solidifies the Palestinian’s fate to die as Israel’s war equipment guinea pigs. Do you feel like your inaction is fine because either way, the genocide doesn’t end?
Also side note, America’s economy is held up by cheap immigrant labor, so way to double dunk.
Economy? Ah yes, let’s elect the person that wants to put 100% sanctions on literally everything. Masterful gambit sirs. Ya’ll can rot in hell!
Americans can turn anything into a controversy, well anything except a convicted rapist vocally announcing his plans to start mass killing civilians using the army.
Honestly, I don’t care anymore. Next week nobody will remember, and they’ll find another random thing to yell about.
Everyone shits on Star Fox: Assault for shit controls. Which is half true at best, as in it makes you chose between 3 options (option C being the correct modern one) and the one the cursor starts on (A) is indeed shit. I mean it’s remotely annoying once, but like come on, it’s not even a hidden setting, it MAKES YOU CHOOSE!
The god damn warning labels on absolutely fucking everything. Bro, I just wanna eat at a restaurant without wondering why the menu has a god damn “at your own risk” label… Also can’t go 1 step in a water park without seeing a life guard, they’re fucking everywhere. Not to mention on the rare occasion they aren’t there, you just can’t do shit. Land of the free my ass, feels like the optimal way to do anything is to always have a lawyer by side.
Can’t speak for the science libraries as I’ve never used em, and I’ll gladly just blindly accept that as truth, but for everything else it’s always a pain in the ass. For being designed to “run on anything” it sure is funny that 90% of the time I download a python app it doesn’t fucking work and requires me to look up and manually setup a specific environment for it. Doesn’t help that the error messages are usually completely random and unrelated to this…
I always dread when some fucking madman makes the installer for their app in python, knowing it’ll probably fail… God forbid it’s a script that’s supposed to modify something else. Always a good time for reflection upon the choices that led me to this point.
Even my old scripts I kept around for sentimental value. Half of those don’t work either, and I can’t be bothered to figure out what version I made em for.
I tried my best to scrub python from my pc out of principle, but as you say, it’s soo common my distro uses it as a dependency, fucking bullshit!
I download my music and order it by Artists>Album>Song, basically without exception. Occasionally annoying when a song has multiple authors, because people don’t always write the metadata the same way and it fucks with my music player, but that’s besides the point.
When I make playlist, I just take a whole album, filter out a few songs if need be and shove it into a given playlist, sometimes I can do that with an entire artist, but it’s not always that easy.
Another issue with my approach is the odd single song from a random artist that’s really good, but everything else they ever made makes me fall asleep, that’s a really annoying one… Might start making my own fake albums.
My company is very lenient with how I spend my time (as long as I’m somewhat in the office and get my work done, which I god danm do!) and it’s absolutely amazing. Often before a big release I run out of work and since no one is tracking it, I can just work on optimizing/cleaning our code or fixing some UX issue. I mean what are people gonna complain about? Me not doing the work I already completed? If they ever start tracking us I’m jumping ship, our new team pushes out the best code this company ever had and if that’s not enough, then nothing could be.
I’m also confused about this whole “constant meetings” thing. At work I have an analyst that does the vast majority of client communication for me. From how people talk about work, it makes me think “analysts” aren’t a thing in other companies. My gf (also a developer) didn’t even know what an “analyst” could be. Like seriously? I love that guy! Life would suck soo much without him. The only meetings I attend are technical or educational in nature. And our monthly team leader meetings, just because he wants to make sure everything is ok with us.
I don’t understand why people don’t go for something like ZorinOS or Nobara. Both work great out of the box with support for like everything.
Legalized bribes? HUH?!?
Amazon blocked my account when I was buying a gift for an American friend. I made the account years prior thinking I’d buy something, but didn’t end up using it. In other words, this was the first purchase on the account. It got blocked for suspicious activity, and to unblock it, I have to provide an account statement with an Amazon transaction in it… THERE IS NONE!!! THIS IS THE FIRST ONE AND IT DIDN’T HAPPEN CUS I’M BLOCKED!!! I was only buying some bloody markers and a plushy!
Nation wide? Fuck yea! :D
Ey! I studied there for 2 years, awesome corner of the world :)
200/month that’s 2400/year, now to me that sounds insane… That’s twice my car expenses and even that’s like double of what I pay for transit and food.
Here in Prague a yearly public transit ticket is 3650kč which is actually closer to 160$ (my bad) or roughly 150€ a year. Either way it’s an order of magnitude less and then some. The kind of money I’ll happily just throw out there. And inside Prague it is most definitely faster than by car. I dread driving here.
In rural areas the story is a little different, 9385kč (~380€) a year including Prague and the surrounding area, so I can visit my ma. I used to have this pass before my car. Still MUCH cheaper, but I admit, it’s like twice as slow to go by rural busses compared to driving your own car.
Sadly don’t know the transit pass prices in the Netherlands, cus I just biked everywhere (didn’t have a car as a student and sure as hell wasn’t gonna pay more than I had to at the time). But it’s hard to imagine they’d be much more expensive.
A bit unrelated, but where I live the price of car school doubled in the past few years. It’s the reason my girlfriend still hasn’t started driving school yet. I could see that as an important factor. If I had to get my driving license for the current price, I might also reconsider. Cars are generally ludicrously expensive compared to everything else. Here you could pay roughly (converted) 120 bucks a year for public transit, or pay 80 monthly AT LEAST to drive (just gass and ensurance).
I’d imagine a bar that would come up with a rule like that would already have a predominantly straight male demographic. That’s a lot of free beer…
You have to get in early, before they get all the practice from all the previous visitors.
Ej, das a good one!
