If you want to hate them more, there were cases of wikis moving off the site and fandom just deciding to restore the content after the maintainers deleted it, claiming everything written on the site is their property. Absolute shithole and I refuse to use it if there are alternatives.
Personally I just like my colleagues so it’s fun to be around them for the most part, and there are better lunch options around the office in my case (plus I’d never bother going somewhere when I’m home anyway). It being easier to just quickly ask a question is nice too. Also gets me actually out of the house and cycling for ~40 minutes a day. I also get way more done at work because working at the same pc I spend 90% of my free time at is not great at motivating my brain to do work.
Still, if I didn’t have the option to just stay home when I don’t feel like going to the office/am waiting for a package or something, I’d find that very annoying.
Shorting, crypto trading, options are all gambling. Long term investments are usually not.
One is hoping that the price will go a certain way in the short term. The other is giving a company money so they hopefully turn it into more money. that is the difference, nothing to do with casinos.
It’s an issue of political will, because it’s perfectly possible to keep cycling possible even in those conditions, but yea as long as that isn’t there you can’t always.
It should be a net benefit for society. Any system in which it isn’t is a very flawed system. Like most of the world right now.
Oh no, a typo from hitting a key right next to the intended key, this has never happened in the history of journalism!
I work in QA, my colleague is exactly this guy. Breaks everything without even trying. Doesn’t even have much of an IT background, but man he’s good at breaking things.
Also, online logins should lock you out temporarily after a few failed attempts anyway, making brute force a complete non issue.
Also also, if you’re going to try to brute force someones pw, you would just look up the requirements beforehand anyway.
Both glass and plastic bottles frequently get reused here in germany. Can’t say I’ve ever heard of someone having an unclean on. I don’t know where you heard that from but it’s clearly outdated or flat out bullshit.
Yep, I think i even got diagnosed with something similar (tho all i have is a memory of my mom mentioning “fine motor skill development disorder” once, which my brain couldve just made up), I do have autism and probably adhd which I’m still trying to get diagnosed. I looked into dyspraxia a while ago and a lot of it fit pretty well, I still tie my shoe laces in a very scuffed way for example and it took me until I was 12 or so to learn it. And there’s nothing I hate more than fiddly stuff with my hands, so I’ve pretty much assumed I have some form of dyspraxia ever since. Though I had little issues learning to type and can do that pretty fast, and never had any general learning disability, which made me a bit doubtful. If it has high comorbidity with autism/adhd I probably do have it after all.
In any case I am glad I don’t have to handwrite a lot anymore lol
I never recovered, and I don’t really know how to write print. So i either write cursive at the speed of around one letter per second, produce unreadable chicken scratching, or write very ugly all caps print because that’s simple enough and actually readable and faster than trying to produce legible cursive.
I also don’t think I handwrite more than 100 words a year though so it’s ok
Isn’t the US the only country in the world requiring its citizens to pay taxes if they both live and work abroad? Or is there some huge earning limit to that that most people will never reach?
Honestly the EU is fucked up in so many ways but somehow still feels far more competent at doing good for its citizens than basically any other government institution, even if it’s of course not without its failures (looking at you, copyright reform).
I can agree with the consecutive spending one, that seems like something that shouldn’t be allowed, but log in bonuses? Sure it’s an obvious way of getting people to keep playing your game by at least getting them to log in, but it’s functionally no different from daily quests in that regard. Wow, now your log in bonus is instead a daily quest to do something extremely trivial that takes 10 seconds. And if lawmakers start wanting to forbid the concept of daily quests then I would like them to get the fuck away from my hobby.
First time spending bonuses kinda w/e, it is a pretty manipulative thing but it’s so easy to work around too, just put in a one time purchasable thing that gives better value.
Makes sense though since the article said it’s more about the scare of more such regulation coming than necessarily the specific proposal.
Because they can’t (couldn’t?) build it for the usual reasons that there’s one place on the route where they have trouble getting permission. Not because of any faults with the technology.
Also wasn’t even the original planned completion date still in the future? You don’t build hundreds of km of railway featuring some of the longest railway tunnels ever built in a year.
It solves the problem of long travel times if you’re not flying. Not in this case of course, but in general. Even a straight line HSR line from e.g. Hamburg to Munich could never compete with a plane. Maglev could.
There are plenty of caveats in the additional requirements for higher speed trains, but there is a reap problem to be solved.
Japan is in the middle of building a very long maglev line, what about it is supposed to be not at all ready?
There’s still no point for a 10km intracity line, but for important long distance routes it seems like the best way to kill flights, though we’ll see how it works out for japan whenever they finish it.
Yeah, I get it for effectively 32€ through my employer due to the payment being pre-tax and a slight discount on top. Sucks that public transport is so poor for you, I only use it when it’s really cold but going by bus takes maybe 5 minutes longer than cycling for me, and I’d guess maybe 10 minutes longer than if I had a car and used that.
For me the ticket is worth it just for the occasional regional train, though. Visiting family for christmas over 2 days already pays for it for an entire month, since the train ticket itself would be 20€ one way.
They do, but HIV infections can take a while to turn up positive while already being transmittable.
