The real question is what they should have done with the blue ranger. All I can think of is David Carradine.

If only he’d sent war plans, he could have just shrugged and moved on like nothing happened.
The MAGA platform is inherently hateful, bigoted, selfish and shortsighted. It is lead by greedy amoral narcissists and sociopaths and preaches contempt for law, ethics and personal integrity. All issues are a matter of us vs them, so when one of us does something that gets called out by them, the problem is with them calling one of us out.
Anyone who is still a MAGA supporter has already excused the inexcusable more times than they can count. Those with a moral compass left a long time ago. Sure, there will be people who barely pay attention and who are genuinely ignorant of what the party they support is actually doing. But those people aren’t the ones running for office or actively participating in political organizations.
Also Russian trolls, useful idiots, billionaires, a massive network of right wing propaganda outlets, a corrupt Supreme Court that gleefully shredded the constitution, and a large portion of voters who are too fucking stupid to understand that the price of eggs is not set by the president.
I grew up poor in a fairly cosmopolitan city, and I still felt like I was going to crawl out of my own skin the first time I went to a slightly dressy business event. I have no fucks to give anymore, but back in the day, this would have probably been a fairly reasonable disaster preparedness plan if I had to be invited to something formal with a lot of social expectations that I was not familiar with.
It’s walking into a different culture, and while the hosts should be understanding, it can be reasonable to prepare someone who isn’t familiar with the culture before sending them in. Still, no need to be a dick about it.
Reminds me of my cousin. Her parents are lovely people, but they are not exactly… refined. Her dad in particular makes a first impression that I’d describe as a somewhat toned down Earnest P Worrell. And while he isn’t stupid he never learned a lot of important life skills and his past mistakes have have caused a fair amount of hardship, and that only fuels the resentment.
By the time she was in high school it was clear my cousin was ashamed to be associated with her family. She kept her home life and social life as far apart as possible, and she was always excited to spend time with members of our extended family that she saw as much more normal. (Especially funny to me since my mom made that list and I’ve seen that woman scratch herself with the cutlery while dining out). She was also pretty fucking rude to her parents, openly talking crap about them while they were in the room. Very shitty, but not exactly shocking for a teenager in her position.
Fast forward to today when my aunt and uncle own a hipstery restaurant, while my cousin got knocked up ended marrying a contractor / meth head.
When a man marries his mistress he creates a job opening.
Removing the anatomy portion of sex ed is absurd, but we’ll just file it under the same “everything I don’t like is porn” reasoning they’ve been using. And at least I can understand how someone can think that teaching about birth control only encourages sex.
But what the actual fuck can anyone say to defend removing any discussion about consent‽ I honestly can’t understand it. There’s literally no reason not to cover it unless you object to the idea that rape and molestation are bad.
What’s next, teaching kids that strangers in vans have the best candy? That adults will often reward those who give special favors? The importance of keeping uncomfortable experiences a secret?
Back when I worked in an office I would put up badass president pics Fourth of July. Too lazy to find them, but stuff like Kennedy riding a robot unicorn on the moon, FDR in wheelchair themed power armor, Roosevelt gunning down big foot in a forest fire, etc.
At home, the only significant decorating I do is for Christmas. There’s enough misery out there, and I choose to embrace the joy and the appeal to the better side of our nature. So we have lights, fake candles, and so on, and we put up a tree that gets a new ornament or two every year which fills it with memories. And as a finishing touch we hang a banner declaring “All creatures will make merry under pain of death”
Also a big red flag that he wanted them to identify the owner or a manager, because that’s not fucking ominous when a cop is abusing his power and no longer wants to settle for a refund.
Meanwhile Russia’s spraying the country with a firehose of lies, and illegally funneling money in to influence the election. IIRC Johnson got a hefty campaign donation from Russia, which he had to return when it was noticed.
But no, this is clearly the real outrage. Just because he didn’t endorse any politician or party and didn’t appear with any presidential candidate doesn’t mean that this wasn’t obviously election interference. Just look what he’s doing, reminding people that Ukraine exists and shaking hands with American workers who build the shells that are helping to save his country. What could be more sinister?
For real though, the pro-Putin wing is desperate to spin this story because it clearly shows how full of shit they are when they bitch about spending money on Ukraine instead of keeping it in the US. Supporting Ukraine isn’t just good for upholding the international order, safeguarding allies, and degrading Russia’s capabilities for remarkably little cost, but it’s also supporting domestic manufacturing jobs.
At this point, I’m not sure if he’d lose even 1% in the polls if a recording came out showing him with Epstein, explicitly stating he’ll take the 12 year old girl, then dropping his pants. Most of his supporters would claim it was fake, some would claim it was out of context because they didn’t release any footage of actual sex, and at least a few would argue that there’s nothing wrong with sex with 12 year olds.
Hawaii
And for something similar in its insanity, there’s also Santa Claus, a product of Mexico that I can only assume was fueled by product from Columbia.
“I wonder if there’s beer on the sun”
The Canada Song lives rent free in my head.
“We put our faith in BLAST HARDCHEESE.”
Final Sacrifice.
I think the most reasonable interpretation is that the law doesn’t currently recognize the undead as being people, let alone being the same person they were in life. It would need to be shown to be a reliable source of evidence, similar to any new technology that claims to offer insight into a case. A random judge might allow it, but it would be easy grounds for an appeal if it can’t be shown to do exactly what it claims to do.
DNA evidence was new once, but so was the polygraph. Only one of these is admissible, and for good reason.
I’m glad I’m not one if the people who has to defend this administration in court. They can’t go one fucking day without publicly contradicting their own court filings. The amount of contortions their lawyers have to do to try to avoid getting trapped in a no win scenario is hilarious.
If it were me, I’d probably be the first member of the administration to get sent to El Salvador after losing it and blurting out “why can’t you shut your goddamn dick holster for one fucking day you stupid asshole‽” in a meeting.
