I’ve always considered myself a film buff but even i’m struggling to sit through most of the tripe that’s coming out of hollywood these days. Arts films have always been a challenge but rewarding once their completed.

over the years i’ve had trouble with the various app stores like Discover and Pop!_Shop which for me led to the use of the terminal. other than that there is the occasional permissions issue that may have a graphical solution but i’ve always used chown on the command line.

a lot of things you saw as cons of living through the 2000’s I saw as Pros that I still long for.

Personally I suspect the 30’s sucked. I imagine the 1860-1900’s did too with the U.S. industrial revolution & gilded age being considered a bad thing for people that weren’t mega-wealthy.(kinda like the direction we’re headed)

Lately I’ve heard a lot of officials say somethimg along the lines “if they come here and start causing problems, we’re gonna deport them.” but I never hear them say whether or not the problem-causing immigrants are facing justice. prior to being deported.

You have it backwards. Coroners are an elected position whereas ME’s are typically trained doctors. Any schmuck can get elected coroner. One of many sources. Jon Oliver even did an episode on the subject.

I think his receiving the Mark Twain prize went to his head.

I had a fair amount of issues back in the day due to debian having limited support for newer hardware with proprietary drivers. I wouldnt be surprised if that still a thing given Debian’s modus operandi.

I don’t have a fix per se but you might want to see if your Magic SysRq button works to force a reboot using Alt + SysRq + ‘b’. It’s surprisingly effective remaining useful during a lot of major glitches except during a full-on Kernel Panic.
