I’m running HA too, but I’m rocking zigbee stuff with a bit of zwave for outside stuff. Works so well (when I properly program it anyway 🤣)!

And it’s generally a similar, though thicker, consistency.
I’ve been considering adding a wireless door lock to my place, but my home automation platform is entirely self hosted and doesn’t reach out to the net for basically anything.
If there was a way I could leverage the unlimited bandwidth/storage as an offsite backup, that would be amazing, but I’m not sure it would be a great idea backing up stuff to a webserver where there best security I can add it via an .htaccess file.
Your off-site backup solution shouldn’t have to care about that level of security because you should be encrypting your backups before they leave your network. Even if you have a solid backup host in the cloud, you still want to encrypt your backup data before you send it to their hosted repo.
Unless your vendor has a reason to read your backups, they shouldn’t be able to.
Look into FileFlows, I used that after my tdarr server shit the bed to act as my conversion utility for my media libraries. Done a very good job of transcoding my Library into a consistent format.
If you have any inclination to use docker, they offer a generator to make the compose file for you
That’s actually how a lot of video codecs work, they just throw a key frame in every so often that has the full image so you can just do diffs for the rest of the frames till the next key frame.
I’m ineligible to win the Darwin award.
Edit: huh, having kids doesn’t disqualify you.
I came to the same realization about my audiobooks through audible, so I’ve archived my audible account and now they can’t take my books :D
Looking over your licensing model, I noticed this
The following systems are classified as enterprise operating systems within XPipe and connections to those systems are only possible starting from the professional plan:
- Windows Enterprise systems
What do you classify as an ‘enterprise’ system? Is that any server OS, or just like a datacenter license or something?
And then you give it more and more information, but it keeps giving you the exact same answer.
I’ve never been able to figure out how to use usenet. Do you have any suggestions on how to get started?
Audiobookshelf. I’ve started using it this year, and I’ve listened to it every day except for a single day since I started lol. Its amazing to keep track of my podcasts and audiobooks. My only complaint is the app doesn’t do autoplay for podcasts but headset media controls work, and the web client autoplays podcasts, but my media controls don’t work. Even with those minor complaints, its an amazing tool that I don’t know how I’d live without again.
There are many jobs where the hiring manager already has someone in mind for the job (but they have to check the required boxes and pretend to open the position to any candidate).
I had a manager who offered a promotion to our department and went through the whole process of interviewing and whatnot before giving it to someone outside of the department who had no idea what he was doing and had to be trained by us on how to be a manager. It was really cool to find out after I bailed that he had the job before we even knew about the possible promotion. Glad I bailed on that asshole, that was the same manager who was buddy buddy with the office diddler and tried to run interference for him around the office when he got a new set of bracelets.
That explains the republican mindset so well. If joy doesn’t exist in the world, you’re not taking it from others when you spread your misery.
Security Now is great for getting Tech/Security industry information explained in a way that’s fairly understandable even if you’re not immersed in it.
Don’t threaten me with a good time!
Ah, that would be why. Good to know I guess, thanks for the info stranger!
Interesting, I haven’t had any issues across multiple phones/PCs/browsers for anyone in my family plan, but that’s internet services for you.
AuthLeft taking authoritarian practices from other ideologies? Color me shocked.
I’m surprised it took this long to be honest.
