Not the European institutions. They exist on their own merits that have nothing to do with building social webs.

I’m also sick of LIVE news channels hosting on YouTube that enable chat rooms without any supervision and force it onto your face unless you close them. Just disable that shit, you aren’t dedicated streamers, who do bother to moderate chats.

“Social webs” where they are not needed are just increasingly becoming an opportunity to saturate with shit posts, fake news, and propaganda by randoms. I am not going to them for a random two cent Joe’s opinion, I am going to them for whatever their trained and paid professionals are providing.

It can be federated to some degree, but shouldn’t be as a two way participant . For example, as a read only instance whom you can receive a user in if you are part of that institution, but whose use will also be limited to that instance and with only a very limited and controlled portion of those instances being shared with other instances.

Or, hear me out, whatever happened to just hosting your own fucking website and RSS stream? Not everything needs to an opportunity for a random Joe to drop his two cents in.

You probably crossed an admin and didn’t even realize it. Reddit is really utterly shit behind the curtains, they just happen to put on a good face that has generally fooled politicians and influencers alike. Most people care about what’s behind the curtains like they do with politics, not much at all, so they keep getting away with it specially due to the heavy control they have on the narrative. You know societies will begin to give a shit about social networks and what that is doing to our real societies when you actually have a recourse against their Black Mirror Nosedives.

Promote Mbin. The only bad thing it has going for it is that it cannot block entire instances, which is odd because one would think blocking domains would do this. It also has a number of pet peeves, but none I’ve found to be as bad.

This follows a pattern of Trump trying to undermine the concept of the European Union without directly going after the European Union. This sort of statement sounds like bullshit to the sort of people who don’t need to realize it’s bullshit, but unfortunately it captivates and allures the attention of bigots everywhere who until now had to remain to keep to themselves in our societies. It follows the larger trend of radicalizing and creating cults of useful idiots, and the US under Trump will likely be used as a platform to attempt to drive it into Europe to attempt to dismantle the EU as he continue to shift to more imperialistic and militaristic approach to world politics.
