Anyone want to tell me how the telescopes where the mirror is in the middle of the aperture sometimes still show the image without a big dot/wires holding the mirror in what you see? It’s smack in the middle you’d think it would block the view.

The front fell off

I mean it really depends on how much trouble you’re in. If you’re in deep they’re gonna be watching every thing you do no matter what. So any kind of message that looks suspect is gonna be investigated, even stuff like “Aunt Mary” or whatever is gonna have someone trying to figure it out.
The best way to do it is to exit the monitored communication entirely, either a burner phone with coded language, or having your communications come from someone else on the inside. That’s really the only way you’ll get around it, and even that can still be caught.

The function of the parks service is to maintain the parks, rivers, and forests (aka nature) of the area they operate. Idk what in your view makes “nature conservation” overlap with “making sure entitled lazy dickheads have a trash can every 10 feet they can ignore” but you might want to reevaluate your stance here. Govt funding is tight enough for these agencies trying to do what they can as it is. Catering to “But I don’t want to hold my trash for 10 minutes” like a whining baby is not their concern. Nor should anyones be. You’re a grown adult. Take your trash, shove it in a pocket or a bag until you can throw it away like an adult.

Genuine answer here, as someone who volunteers for the parks. A lot of times the budgets are tight, depending on whose responsibility it is to clean up the area and what services are there/nearby, the staffing just isn’t available. Yeah it’s a pretty easy thing to do in theory, but in practice when it becomes “okay and 2 hours of your shift is driving out there and emptying the cans” it’s not a far leap to just “Remove the cans, make the snack stand dispose of their garbage on their own”
I mean I get it, the cans are nice but also, like you’re an adult. Throw your trash away on your own.
“But then people will throw it on the ground!” Okay then pay someone to stand out there and slap every idiot that thinks littering is okay because they couldn’t find a can in 10 seconds.
It’s common decency in plenty of places around the world to take your garbage with you until you find a can. It’s not hard.

I mean that’s part of the thing right? “Who dares wins” is a great mantra until you lose. Nobody can predict the future so a lot of times the greed carries out until it’s literally irreversible. That’s why it’s so important to have people on the other end defending from the greed, from the people that will hoard and take until they die on their pile of gold.
At least for the US there is always a feeling of doom and worry and “it’s going to pop” but until it actually does, the greed will continue to take. That’s part of the system for better or worse. It can’t be stopped, but defending the people from the repercussions of that greed is what we have to do.
There’s always someone that will try to bring too much on the lifeboat. Rules are needed to stop them from sinking the whole ship.

As others have said, the stock market has little to do with reality. It’s focused on money and business reports. As long as companies are showing profits, the stock market literally doesn’t care.
Something only hits it when businesses hit it. Look at today’s market. Walmart posted bad futures and the whole market recoiled (only a bit but still).
There’s also just the denial phase. Lots of people, at lots of levels, are dependent on the stock market for their own finances. Literally everyone with a 401k has an interest in the market doing well. Saying “welp, we’re fucked” is just not something that anyone wants to put towards wall street. It’s why we have market “crashes”, because people hold out until the water covers the bow of the sinking shop then they freak out and bail out at the last second.

It doesn’t matter without scope. Are we looking at a database of SSNs? tax records? A sign in log? The social security number database might require uniques in some way, but tax records could be the same person over multiple years. A sign in gives a unique identifier but you could be signing in every day.
It’s like saying a car VIN shows up multiple times in a database. Where? What database? Was it sold? Tickets? Registered every year?
This is nothing more than a “assume I mean immigrants or tax fraud and get mad!” inflammatory statement with no proof or reason.

Yeah VGA is still pretty much gold standard for supportability in my experience. It’s like a console port with baud rate settings, worst case scenario those two should always work.

This usually comes from a couple things.
The Amazon site that could do faster delivery was out of stock, had too many orders already to deliver it same day on Wednesday
The time of day you looked at the order changed so you got in on Thursday early enough to hit that time limit
Or the Most likely:
They don’t do the “what about same day, but tomorrow” stuff because it’s usually a problem that solves itself. Either you’re fine with Saturday, or you come back tomorrow trying to get it same day again.
The thing that is worth noting is that Amazon doesn’t do everything they sell as fast as humanly possible. They still have logistics to worry about and not every possible site can ship everything at maximum possible speed. They probably could if they forced it, but the juice isn’t worth the squeeze on that approach.
Every in game auction house lol pretty much any item that hasn’t just been bought out and manipulated has the same entries.

Catholic Church: “Um actually she’s not a minor, she’s a 3,000 year old diety that just looks like a-”
Just want to add, in the US you’d don’t have to register to vote each election/vote, just when you change address.

Despite all the interesting advice in this thread the thing that helped me the most was accepting and getting used to the fact that if you’re going to lose weight you’re going to be hungry.
You’re not starving to death, you’re not dying, but there are times where you’re going to just have to be hungry and deal with it. Our bodies are very good at doing their best to keep us alive, and hunger is our bodies way of saying “we need to look for food”. The problem is we didn’t evolve that skill at a time when looking for food only takes a few minutes and can involve thousands of calories.
If you’re overweight your body is going to sound alarm bells that it’s eating into the reserves, but you need to acknowledge that and let the reserves get used so you can lose weight.

As someone else said, recovering alcoholics, but also they market towards sustainability. Infinitely recyclable aluminum instead of single use bottles and all that. I’m still just gonna drink from the tap most of the time, but I’ll pick one up on a road trip or if I’m going on a picnic or something

There’s significantly less plastic in them, they only have to have a very thin coating to prevent the metal from oxidizing, vs having to be structurally supportive and retain its own shape. On top of that, aluminum is infinitely recyclable

I feel like even the smart ones who built rockets and bombs saw us killing nazis and were like “yeah that’s probably for the best”

Nonono you see God raises up all the “good” people, all the “bad” people were godless heathens.
See the “good” people appeal to Gods followers by claiming to be a prophet of gods wisdom and telling them to vote for them on faith. The “bad” people tricked and manipulated others into gaining their power by posing as false prophets and liars.
Do you see the difference?
Hey at least if they screw this one up it (probably) wont irradiate half the planet.
