Slop Bowls 2: Protein Boogaloo
And you can say “block anything related to that,” but I don’t want to stop hearing about it entirely. Just not the only topics.
And even on the few active subs that aren’t Trump or Linux, there’s a lot of commenters that can’t shut up about Trump or Linux, particularly ones that think you’re a bad person if you ever stop talking about Trump.

You seem to think that having Trump on your side makes you pro America, but I strongly disagree.
In terms of population I don’t think having Trump on your side makes you pro America, but “adversary” is a geopolitical term.
On the stage of geopolitics, the current US government acts in favor of Russia.

Is Russia even a US adversary anymore?

My personal answer is that people, particularly left-of-center folk from other Western countries, want us to feel like it’s our fault. The way they talk about us.
I don’t truly believe it, but that doesn’t mean I don’t internalize it.

The average Lemmite is the kind of person that thinks you shouldn’t be allowed to ignore politics

It’s definitely older than 20 something. As a 20 something, the things that are popular here don’t align with that age group.

Politics, tech, and Star Trek are the only three topics on Lemmy in any significant numbers, and even tech is politics half the time. The gaming communities are mostly politics about gaming, the porn communities are mostly dead, and forget anything more specific (other than Trek of course.)

Like, you see the news coming out of the UK right? It’s not as bad as Trump but it’s still awful.

Ironically the fact that Star Trek is the one of the only specific media franchises that can maintain an active community on Lemmy explains it.

For some reason Millennials decided that engaging them back was bad because it legitimatized them or something.

The “Us” in “Us Magazine” isn’t all caps

It’s usually a Bible but you’re allowed to swear on anything.

midwest.social is sorta the defacto US-specific instance despite the name pointing to a specific region.

I think cold balkanization is both the most likely and most optimistic scenario.
I’m curious why you think it’s most likely. Most optimistic, I agree.

I just think the nature of how Lemmy came about and who created it means that it’s mostly used by very serious people worried about the state of the world.
It’s one of the reasons I still use Reddit honestly. Lemmy is good for politics, FOSS, and Star Trek.

The US wasn’t run by Nazis in 1939 though. The same (rather popular) guy who was President in 1939 was President in 1941.
It’s very possible Germany becomes run by Nazis again.
Gaza or anything about the government of the United Kingdom
