I mean at this point it seems that English doesn’t do this, but maybe at one point it saw limited use.
Except “naïve”, that still happens. But English is nothing if not wildly inconsistent.

Because that’s how it’s spelled.
Spanish uses ü, although relatively rarely. It signifies that you should pronounce the u and not merge it into nearby vowels.
Uhhh might need to reread that title

Oh yeah. All my coworkers talk/ask about “sites” which are just streaming sites filled to the absolute brim with ads and all the videos are low bitrate. Kinda sad ngl

Isn’t it lemmus.org not lemmy.org?

Eh? What if there’s a gas supply issue? Can’t fuel up. I’ve experienced this after a natural disaster disrupted gas deliveries. Lines for blocks. Days to wait.
1200 miles in 24 hours
Just curious how often do you go more than 300 miles in a day, and if you do with any frequency how much would it really hinder you to stop for 45 minutes every 300 miles?
I have a OnePlus Nord N10 5G I picked up to play with Ubuntu Touch.
Now that VoLTE works I can actually make and receive calls which makes it nearly usable.
I wish RCS could work but that may be out of their hands. Group texts (MMS) don’t work either unfortunately.
It’s close to usable but still not ready for me personally.
I did contribute to Ubuntu Touch though by adding Colemak keyboard layout support and they accepted my pull request :D

Just shit on Microsoft they’ll probably find common ground in that

Traditional, old school forums.
They’ve been around forever but just recently become federated software.

Pinning your versions just means updating will be a pain, and you’ll probably start running outdated containers that are security risks.
It’s not like you’re doing code audits every updates anyway. Just use containers that are established and seem trustworthy. It’s all you can really do.

This isn’t that odd. My father was deployed in the military when I was born

Fortunately such laws do not seem forthcoming in my country, and I have yet to see how not following the laws of other countries will be able to meaningfully affect us.

No. The strength of Torrenting is that a bunch of slow connections can combine into one fast download.

Yep. As a Fediverse admin that’s basically it. Until there are legal or financial consequences there will be no ID verification. If I am forced… Well my instance will be disabled. Simple as that unfortunately.

In the olden days it was called WefWef

He was, but probably moved their when it became clear that Bluesky was the winner of the 2022 Twitter exodus. At least for the time being.
Really doesn’t mean anything. A 1080p movie can be 2gb and it’s technically still 1080p. But a 1080p Bluray is 20-30GB. Resolution is a small part of quality.
