Taco Bell’s caramel apple empanada and the double decker.
I wonder if being within those circles, you’ve been exposed to certain ugliness on a more intimate level; with people who feel comfortable enough in their in-group to express their more radical thoughts. Anecdotally, I’ve known a few vegans but have never been lectured nor had views pushed on me.
Hell, the only time I ever hear about the radical, pushy vegan is when people complain about them. On the flip side, I’ve been exposed to meat eaters who seem to get offended when someone mentions the concept of veganism, as if someone else not eating animal products is somehow a trigger for them.
Again, all anecdotes here, I’m just figuring one’s exposure to the vocal minorities on either side of the conversation is where you run into the problems.
You aren’t wrong about any of this, but let’s not forget that a split second “BYAAAAAH” (Howard Dean) can tank an entire presidential run if it gets media attention.
With that said, Trump has had dozens of these blunders over the years. It means nothing.
Oh wow, they have a version that doesn’t look like it was made for XP? Sucks that it’s buggy.
What do you mean by installation quirk? Having a GPU and needing a driver?
That seems pretty common to me. I also know people interested in PC gaming who are also low skill and I certainly wouldn’t recommend Linux to them (only exception being the Steam Deck).
I hate all acronyms that aren’t defined.
You see it constantly in gaming communities. Ah, yes, the game “AC.” You know the one.
Assassin’s Creed? Animal Crossing? Armored Core? Ace Combat?
I listened to him for a while, then found him complaining more and more about the left. That was mostly fine since he complained about conservatives as well and he supported Bernie Sanders, but I got fed up with him because he wouldn’t have liberals on the show to discuss the topics he clearly knew nothing about yet loved to bring up constantly.
He’s a guy who touts himself on being open, curious, and willing to learn, but what I found was the exact opposite. Any time there was a guest on his show who disagreed with something and the conversation turned into more of a debate, he’d say that having that person on was a mistake. Ultimately I stopped listening when he proved himself to be a blowhard hypocrite.
I’m not sure why it does that. The slash was definitely in there.

Edit: other people are apparently having this issue

Fata Deum (not out yet) is a spiritual successor I’ve been keeping my eye on.
Actually not seeing that issue in Venmo. Are you looking in your transaction list?
Others have already responded to you with many of the same complaints I was going to bring up so I’ll just highlight a few things:
I absolutely cannot stand Subaru’s infotainment system. It’s actually the primary reason I’ll never get another one.
I don’t get it. What’s happening here?
The bot doesn’t have a profile? If it does, you have to go there then scroll to the right:
I know you mentioned audiobooks but what about some digital books? Personally, reading makes my eyes tired so I know that, for me, reading something would be a good way to provoke a nap.
As a response to the idea that you may get fatigued by passive media, a book may be a good balance to that. With movies, shows, and audiobooks, you’re going to be listening the whole time. It’s just constant noise. A book may be more meditative.
Which reminds me, this may be a good time to practice meditation.
There’s a solution nobody has mentioned yet, which is using an iMessage bridge application (allowing you to message iPhone users over iMessage). If you have a machine running MacOS, I just started using one called OpenBubbles that works great and, unlike other bridges (AirMessage or BlueBubbles), doesn’t require you to spin up and run a Mac as a server.
Alternatively, iOS 18 drops this month and has support for RCS, as some have mentioned. This is assuming you use Google Messages…
