  • Vices are a natural part of being human. But vices can easily become difficult to manage in a healthy manner. But it sounds like you are lonely and your religion and the service from adult workers is trying to fill the void. I get it, life is hard and tough and very lonely.

Why not try to take it easy on yourself. We are all fallible, but we should strive to better ourselves, look it seems that is exactly what you are trying and wanting. This might seem stupid but I started jogging last year. I fucking sucked, but someone told me try moving half an hour a day 2-3 times a week and in a year you would have succeeded in something to further build upon. So I jogged a block and basically died, but almost a year later it changed my life, I joined a jogging group at work, made new friends and running partners, and comradeship. I am not a jogger, still doing a 5km at 57 minutes yesterday, a parkrun with friends. But my point is not to start jogging, but maybe find a hobby or activity that allows you to interact with people, no matter how stupid, and if it is something to be active then there may be a double benefit.

This will not solve your issues or vices, but I learned little by little it becomes a lot, and maybe working on yourself physically or socially, even if you are a fish out of water, will yield results in different ways. It sounds like you are working on yourself spiritually, I hope since you started you have seen a difference. But changing yourself will require work, that is what makes it so satisfactory because you worked for this change, but there isn’t a quick fix or and shortcut, but the answer is easy, small efforts everyday, results in big hard worked changes after a while.

Good luck on your journey, I hope you are able to deal with your vices and issues in a healthy but productive way.

  • Insane that in less than 2 weeks, maybe 1, casualties would have passed 1 million.

I know it is not full on deaths each one, maybe 1/3 or 1/4 maybe if I take a guess, but the other 3/4 was basically wounded and most likely suffering lifetime injury. This also does not include the mental trauma a war like this causes.

Good luck Ukraine, you deserve every bit of freedom you now fight for, may you inflict death and injury to every invader in your country that is trying to sieze it from you.

  • This is going to be controversial but there were slight benefits that have been gained by Russia by this war, they basically identified all the areas in the military that were corrupt and lazy, remember in the beginning how unprepared the Russian forces were, they have basically fully transitioned into full war manufacturing, they now have the most experience fighting force in the latest modern war next to Ukraine. They also have basically almost empty prisons, almost every poor desperate persons would have taken the huge pay day and maybe also ended up dead, so a lot of societal “undesirables” were eliminated. Also basically any opponents of Putin could be eliminated by basically blaming Ukraine or blaming the individual for being a secret Ukrainian supporter or against the state

  • I unfortunately think a little less pessimistic, I think he knows he cannot lose or withdraw, that will be his death warrant most likely. But if he keeps even the 2014 gains but this time officially recognised by both Russia and the west, even if Ukraine objects, he has won, even losing half that territory or even gaining 1 square meter extra does not matter, his Kremlin can spin it as a win. Might even embolden him to look at other countries, Georgia don’t you fucking dare change the status quo.

Ask me, as someone who has personally experienced the communist propaganda machine, Putin will be fine, just the common folk who would pay the price for his vanity
