Tom Hanks in an 80s comedy (came out in 90 close enough) is usually worth it, I only watched it once a number of years ago. It wasn’t overly memorable but I recall enjoying it well enough. There was probably jokes I wasn’t paying attention enough to notice. However when you add Meg Ryan with Hanks you can’t really go wrong.

I started that like 10 years ago, unfortunately I have a funky shaped head so it doesn’t look as good as it may on others but I do enjoy the maintenance on it. I can definitely tell these days it won’t grow back like it used to (much thinner on the top, edging back on the top sides). However being able to use a hair trimmer once a week myself is cheap, and less things to do while getting ready in the morning.

I can understand since society seems to put value on hair but not worrying about it (some confidence) goes a long way. I barely think about it nowadays.

Not if the place doesn’t do daylight savings time, and not all places in a timezone will do that (least in North America) so you need extra code if they do or do not. It becomes a pain after awhile when you do it in multiple projects. Technically one extra setting but it’s still a pain to make sure it’s handle properly in all cases, especially when the previous programmer decided to handle it for each case individually, but that’s a different issue.

Also when you deal with the times, say in .Net you gotta make sure it’s the proper kind of date otherwise it decides it’s a local system date and will change it to system local when run. Sure it’s all handled but there are many easy mistakes to make when working with time.

I probably didn’t even get to the real reason, I sort of picked this up on my own.

I kinda thought he was attempting a joke but he only knows how to be mean for a laugh and has no idea why an actual joke works. But since his fans will cheer for anything mean it doesn’t help either. Like the toddler that learned people laugh when they say a swear word, let’s just keep doing that until nap time.

There’s a whole movie using the same rhythm ‘dont look up’ that, I assume, it was modeled after. I’m sure his narcissism is clutching for some control these days and it’s driving him mad.

He’ll argue it down to, ‘don’t do it again’ with a virgous finger waving, assuming there’s media in the room, otherwise it’s just ‘sorry for intruding on your time, can we remove some charges while you’re here?’.

I’m disillusioned by the US justice system at the moment, one of the few times I pay attention as a foreigner, mostly to check if the tangerine tantrum is being held accountable for breaking the law like regular people go through M&Ms.

Yeah the guy who cleared out the Italian mob for the Russian mob to move in (think that happened under him) would have money hidden properly…If not he’s as clueless as someone caught on camera thinking he’ll commit statutory rape for fun. Even if he’s not that clueless he may have thought himself untouchable. Trump only keeps idiots around as long as he was.

I recall seeing at least one interview with this guy, he was all self righteous like his shit didn’t stink, big pompous ass. Wasn’t this the dude who Kushner found by looking at books on Amazon? Cause that’s how all the best advisors are found.

I think there was one or two rulings not in Trump’s favour by judges he nominated from the 2020 election or something slightly involving Trump if it wasn’t for that. I just recall thinking, oh maybe they aren’t completely corrupt, just mostly. However he managed to get the bootlicker extraordinaire to judge in the area he lives in (or where his local lawsuits would be filed) as a treat from the Federalist Society for rubber stamping the rest of their list right before leaving office, coincidence I’m sure.

Huh I didn’t realize that was a thing but after some googling it appears forklifts rarely go over 18mph. I’m guessing it was more on the industrial equipment side since they were only for moving the piles of cut lumber around, but they may have only gone up to 30kph in the yard too and I just never realized. Thanks for helping me learn something new.

The forklifts at the sawmill I worked at went much faster than jogging pace usually, maybe 30km/h while loaded? Unloaded they of course can go quicker but safety and all. I think at jogging pace things would back up quickly at a decent sized sawmill.

I always preferred jungle, dnb has a nice head bopping groove but jungle is much more fun, of course doesn’t always apply. I have no idea what the parent comment is about just wanted to add my opinion on some nice beats.

Learn? Trump has a handful of actions that he repeats since it’s work his whole life, sue, whine loudly how badly he’s treated, threaten, commit large amounts of fraud like it’s going out of style. Hopefully he’ll finally have reprocussions in action (know we’re waiting on time while he is supposed to pay) but I doubt he’ll actually learn, he’ll just go back to his whining.

I always thought if it was a fighting game sue would be his default attack button.

Anyone else watch Road to Wellville?

Recall watching it randomly in the 90s on our only movie channel. Story is it’s about Kellogg’s wellness retreat, not meant to be true or anything (I assume) but I always think of it when Kelloggs is brought up. Also always makes me think of the term ‘bicycle smile’ since that may be one of the only times I heard it.

Would it be that complicated if people knew the lunar cycle, especially since the lunar cycle is fairly static? Not everyone I’m sure but those that needed a better time would probably understand and pass that knowledge along for the night folk. Of course depends when in technology we’re talking but I’d assume we humans understood those cycles pretty early for our survival, not in depth but they got the idea the lunar cycle didn’t change like the seasons did and adjust as needed. I haven’t read up on it so I’ll be glad to hear more info.

Her claim was that she couldn’t work or play with her kids for five years though. Tossing trees seems like a pretty excessive activity compared to some light playing with kids or light work.

Part of me does agree since I had terrible fatigue for a few years, some days were better than others so I understand wanting to do more when you feel better but if you’re in the middle of a claim to pay out 650K then it may be better to know your limits. Especially for back and neck injuries. She could have played with her kids in that time instead which is what she was concerned about for the claim.

Mean for hundred of years in the future it may be hardish sci fi…they at least use made up words to explain things rather than just saying it works. Though I do agree, it’s no The Expanse (minus the gateways), Altered Carbon (without the consciousness put on a chip), Battlestar (without the teleporting)…wait not sure what the reasoning was. Those were just some of the first hard sci fi hits from Google for me.

Though Star Trek is more out there for sure, in not sure it’s much worse than others…maybe transporters being the worst for the category.
