That checks out. Exactly what I’d expect from a devout Christian.

Spacewar is the app ID for testing Steamworks integration without having an app ID yet.
Unless it’s a Java Minecraft server which I believe exclusively uses TCP still.
Not that I’m (seriously) advocating for them to go into a dorm, but these people decide their salaries.
If they were doing their job properly they would have raised it, or better yet they would have established a higher-end apartment-dorm type solution that is paid for by the state and so their paychecks are not used to cover their living expenses in DC (not college freshman standards, more like two bedroom apartments unless they want to pony up part of their paycheck, one for a bed and one for an office).
They’re not actually doing either of these things though, so I hardly feel bad.
Taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay out the ass just so they can live a nicer life than the rest of us while they continually make far more than us and don’t try to govern properly (like raising our minimum wage).
If normal people need a bunch of roommates to afford DC, the less well-off Congressmen can deal with something similar until they have made enough good financial decisions to get something nicer, just like the rest of us do.
Also if someone sucks at making financial decisions, I honestly don’t think they should be in a position to decide fiscal legislation for the entire country, it’s clearly not a skill in their wheelhouse and that’s not the place to acquire that skill.
Where is the linked article? The only link I’m seeing in the post is to the homepage. Not sure if my mobile client is not showing me something.
Wait what? Is it just because it’s a tycoon game?
I dropped my sub. Was paying roughly $7.50/mo for 2 years for the legacy bundle and they nearly tripled it to $18.99/mo.
Of all my streaming services, I literally do not watch ESPN, and barely use Hulu and Disney. I could justify $7.50 by stretching the definition of justification, but $18.99 is more than I pay for streaming services I use regularly.
Honestly the popular support from the people who can’t point to Israel on a map is religious.
The governmental support definitely is not based on religion. The US makes semiconductor tech there and Israel is one giant front-line fortress for us. Israel is the Middle Eastern outpost analog to all of the East Asian allies who are littered with US military bases.
To give them the benefit of the doubt, having to sign an NDA doesn’t mean they actually get into bed with Meta.
If you catch me completely off-guard, or for example 10 minutes ago when I started reading the thread, I definitely would give a hot-headed “hell no, fuck you Fuckerberg” response to any approach from Meta, but now that I’ve had the time to calmly think and see other people’s responses I have a better idea (which follows the benefit of the doubt train of though I mentioned).
Sure, the NDA ties your hands, but only until Meta makes the stuff they are scheming public. If federation is part of it, once they federate it would become public knowledge anyway. I’ll admit it’s not a large group of people who would be signing the NDA and sitting down with Meta, but that group of people now has advanced warning of anything Meta is planning and they can begin to counter plan, which is better than being caught totally off guard when Fuckerberg exposes himself.
If they do lie in bed (and federate) with Meta rather than use it as an opportunity to gain Intel on Meta’s horrid schemes, then sure, they will have chosen that side. If they just take Meta’s money and ultimately it helps the fediverse, or just use it to gain Intel, then no harm, no foul?
Off topic joke: As a JS dev, I wish it were extinguished 😂
I’m definitely in support of “mega-threading” anything related to the Reddit blackout unless it’s big breaking news (but mega-thread those events too).
I’ve also started to look for communities for some of my interests, but I suspect it’s going to take a while before a lot of them spread to here. There are also a bunch that I can’t really start since I am primarily a consumer and not a producer (specialized topics like astrophysics that I am not a subject matter expert for).
I watched Apocalypto for a school paper at age 15 (from a list of options given to me), and honestly I think some softcore porn would have been better. Some rated R stuff is fine for a kid to watch, Apocalypto definitely wasn’t.
Also that same year I researched and did presentations on Chinese history (was a prehistorical to maybe a couple hundred years ago timeline) and at least in my research I covered things like the foot tying thing (to make feet smaller) and that didn’t prepare me for the scene in Marco Polo (I think on Netflix) where that happened (and I didn’t finish the episode or continue the series because it’s just too fucked up).
Porn can be fucked up, some porn is definitely NSFL, but there are a lot of things that are so much worse than the average porn site.
I wish they actually tried to “protect the children” but the politicians are very clearly not.
