It’ll take time but I think if the users who are engaged and knowledgeable enough to make this move stick to it, the riff raff that would prefer easier enough to stay in that train wreck being on the sinking ship is better than following along and ruining a good thing.

Yeah but, referencing your analogy, if you want knowledgeable and informative conversation, you want to talk to your custom PC buddy, not the friends who only know how to plug and play. The comments sections on Lemmy are not dumpster fires like on Reddit
I’m loving it, there isn’t half as much karma farming bs and pointless arguing in any of the subs I’ve joined. The content will come if folks don’t give in and go back.
Something similar to this on Lemmy would be a killer service to undertake since finding our way around discovering new subs is a bit different with the email-esque setup!
