This kind of feature is likely to be cloud agnostic, so Gcloud vs AWS isn’t really what’s up for debate.

Why not investigate all of them on a regular basis, while we’re at it? They have terms for life, we should probably make sure none of them are taking bribes or are otherwise unreasonably biased on on cases they rule on.
The external storage plugin has been a headache for years. I feel like it’s a super important plugin but they refuse to fix it despite many issues being opened on GitHub both in Owncloud and later Nextcloud.
Of course I also haven’t gone in and done anything about it myself… 🙃
After a little testing, on Tusky I can see those hashtags as links, but it opens them in a browser instead of within the app, like hashtags normally open. I also cannot find the post through searching the hashtag.
So ultimately it doesn’t work.
