I quit streaming services around 4 months ago, determined the exact maximum streaming quality every device I own can handle, used a $60 used office PC from craigslist, admittedly I haven’t fully figured out how to get subtitles to work without transcoding, but I just need to sit down and figure it out at some point. I direct stream all of my content from a 10+ yr old PC and it uses less than 5% cpu while watching a 4k movie. I could stream to easily 5-10 PC’s and still likely be able to do software maintenance on the PC at the same time. That and with how jellyfin looks like a streaming service, with no transcoding it’s better than any streaming service. Nearly every streaming service you use is transcoding on the fly instead of storing 20versions of each video for direct streaming, direct streaming a previously encoded asset will always deliver a higher quality viewing experience.

So long as there is people living in a place, having kids, and trying to improve their lives, the places will remain. The government may change, social structure’s get overhauled, but the same fact that people are having kids and building a life means those places are unlikely to go away. The old republic is dead. The problem with any currency in our current state is 2 fold:

1. The people that already have too many assets can simply buy a bunch of the currency and fuck with it. Roller coaster that shit.

2. A small group of dedicated individuals with a large sum of money together could perform a similar attack.

3. This is an extra specifically for crypto that I happened to notice while angrily trading btc, doge, and ethereum, they are heavily traded by algo’s, you can crash them by repeatedly buying on a dip, then selling for a minor gain. The algo’s see it as pattern trading and alter their trades to try and recoup losses, the price goes down. Most stocks are not currently as easily manipulated in this manner. Most stocks if you get a gain of a few cents, algo’s will see it as a stock paying out, and will pile into it meaning after you sell for a profit the price keeps going up… Which stinks, but it’s doing that because you made a profit, and likely the movement would be different if you hadn’t made profit, if you took a loss, the algo’s might see it as people are giving up and try to pile in shorts so the price further sinks… My point over all is; having a finite resource of any kind as currency is dangerous because a small group of people already have a majority of the current limited resources and there’s nothing stopping them from simply buying up the new limited resources when it’s available. As Argentina is finding out… Also young currencies have inherent liabilities to them like loop holes people can use to get gains or losses when gains or losses are not due.

Socially I quit Facebook back when it was Facebook, when I was just starting to have extreme anxiety attacks because of repressed memories from my childhood and the people I had considered friends started spreading libelous claims behind my back and the fallout was either being unfriended by people that had been relatively close friends, and posts that I commented on became barren dessert’s, it was obvious people were isolating me out, what I didn’t know until much later, was that people were telling them I was a danger to others in whatever specific way would freak them out to make them isolate me. For instance some women were told I would sexually assault them if we were ever alone if they were particularly afraid of that, or they would say I would rape their kid’s if I had alone time with them. The weirdest was that I like to rape old ladies because I like the texture of their paper thin skin. Weird fucking shit from very sick, demented minds. I was already having anxiety attacks because of having my face bashed in when I was 2yo by a cop, intentionally. So being further abused on Facebook was a no brainer on things I won’t partake in. The truth is I wasn’t a danger to anyone, but I know who it was saying those things about me, the police in my old town know who they are and they did nothing. I am definitely a danger to those people now. But I’m states away, so how much damage could Lil ol me really cause with a 3/4in thick, 6ft titanium rod…
