Again, the phone and the service, at least, when I was homeless in 2019, was covered along with other social services such as SNAP and Medicaid.
And again, I completely agree about not handing money out online. Just disagreeing about homeless folks having accessibility to a phone or the internet. And Public libraries or anywhere with wifi (if you have a phone) are other options.
When I was homeless, I had a cell phone. It’s pretty hard to find work without one. And I don’t know if it’s still the case, but at that time if you are on any sort of government assistance you could get a phone paid for.
As it is really difficult to get out of poverty without one.
That sad, I don’t hand out money on lemmy. There are folks in my community I know need help too.
There is a grain of truth in all of that.
It was essentially an IT department under the executive branch, that I don’t think anybody had even been staffed at since September. Trump basically renamed it and gave it a new mission statement.
They picked a department, and converted it into Doge. They did this essentially to bypass congressional approval, because the department was already there.

Likely internalized bigotry too. Considering when we hear about his mental health falling off it’s always in this context of him claiming to be a Nazi.
Because it’s not about majority rules but the bottom line.
In other words, those 30 some odd percent could be so disgusted by LGBT content that they will cancel. Or stir shit up and cause a boycott. Where as the majority just really doesn’t care one way or the other.
The majority may be vocal about this, but that doesn’t matter as long as the bottom line isn’t affected.
