  • Mine were Kidde as well. They were installed by my dad maybe 17 years ago when he built the home. I eventually found the breaker after a fun game of yelling “Is the light on?” I laughed when I found out it was on the same breaker as the septic aerator (which I had apparently also attached to a garage circuit overhead for work lights and ceiling outlets for tools due to the wall circuit overloading). Fun fact for the people who may not be familiar with septic aerators - when they lose power they have a box on a separate circuit for the failure alarm (which isn’t very loud but annoying af).

  • I like it. I really want to love it. I’d like an option to show all icons on press. The dealbreaker is the issue with no response. S20fe, disabled power optimization for the app, and it still wakes or loads from open apps to home as a frozen screen. With no indicator on the screen, I just tap, wait, tap, wait, click wait for app on popup, then it works, only to tell me it’s not responding despite finally working. Once this bug is gone I might use it over Nova.

  • How about everyone respect the land they’ve had for decades and stop trying to rekindle colonialism? We’re talking about Russia and Ukraine and you’re bringing in other entities into the discussion? Try keeping the train on the tracks. Russia already took over Georgia and Crimea in the past 20 years, just a slow progression to reacquire the good ole Soviet Union. If countries really wanna get the band back together, they’d do so with votes or formal agreements. When foreign tanks roll across borders, any claim of a peaceful integration is a fucking lie, and is in fact a bullying, aggressive act of war.

  • I went for cheap, and syored away. The battery sits at the bottom of the stilt legged coup with a screwed on door to keep water and chickens out. Panel just sits on the roof. I set this all up about 2mo before wyzecam with batteries were announced. Been running ever since. This time of year this area is always cloud covered, and limited daylight. The panel is an older one, not quite as efficient as the one that runs my daytime radiator fans in the hoopouse (no battery, just a 10in and 8in radiator fan that sound like jet engines on full sunny days. I tried the camp ceiling fans but they kept burning out). Fans are mostly to help prevent mold in that one, and keep heat even during summer.

  • Gonna add 100w solar panel works great (just not this time of year, mine picks back up around February), and get a gel battery 100ah or more. Lead doesn’t cycle as much and doesn’t like cold. A cheap charge controller with usb is all you need to power most cameras (I run two wyzecams with the panel on the top of my chicken coop to watch my driveway) Just know this time of year lacks sunlight, I might get 2 to 5 hours this time of year, with 24h later in the year.

  • Tasker can do pretty much anything, so most things are based around need and novelty. I have a gps profile with a view/store/retrieve car location for parking lots, a profile to send my location via text, pretyped text messages to my wife, light control for my phone, photo control for my phone, find my phone by audio file and volume, music playlists, a stupid script that takes my feelings over the day on a 1 to 10 scale and based on the avg at the end of the day plays a particular song to meet that mood, a password generator that stores and kinda encrypts via a Caesarian style translation to a txt file, and then decrypts and retrieves the password (I still manualy edit the text to put in titles for the passwords) Most of my tasker scripts are already automated so there isn’t as much need for manual control.

  • I waited until I got my duo whilst my Steel was on a 2 day battery cycle. As soon as I got the watch it dropped to 16 hours. I finally replaced the battery, to find that I really needed a new zebra strip, too. 12 days later I got a new strip and my Steel is running for 7 days again. I use Mpebble for now, as to my knowledge Cobble doesn’t support many 3rd party apps like Tasker yet (I haven’t tried in a couple of weeks)
