Unpopular Opinion: Hendrix’s version is superior.

This is an opinion I’ve come to by listening to both dozens and dozens of times. What I can’t escape is that while the cover is longer and more expansive, there is nothing in SRV’s version that’s absent in Hendrix’s. Hendrix’s version has lyrics, that slap. So I have to give it to Jimmy by a hair.

I want to point out for context that I was exposed to Stevie’s version first and more often. Both versions can bring me to tears; I’d be difficult to exaggerate how much I love them both.

I saw a post where a Cybertruck got T-boned by like a Nissan or something. The Tesla didn’t look damaged badly at all and the other car was modern art. Tesla people were bragging about it until someone pointed out that the Nissan driver walked away while the driver of the Tesla broke both legs.

I know this is anecdote, but the point is that vehicle damage doesn’t prove people injuries.

You should keep in mind that this is a negotiation position, and it’s normal to ask for the world at the beginning so the inevitable compromise may be more in your favor.

What I’ve come to understand is that even if Trump and MAGA become histories villains, with their ideology, ascetic, and personas become toxic and reviled, everyone will just forget after a few generations and it’ll happen all over again.

The only way to purge MAGA is to overcome American bigotry; the strongest god in the pantheon.

The idea that the existence of crack was a government plot is an old and debunked conspiracy theory.

Not that our government isn’t that racist, just that it’s not that competent or forward thinking.

The real racism was the response to crack. The drug became synonymous with black Americans the same way AIDS became synonymous with gay men: because they were the early and obvious victims. Unlike AIDS, crack is actually much less dangerous than people think. Opioids are way worse.

This is funny because the whole concept of going to a restaurant (or anywhere else) on a date is a modern concept that didn’t exist before car culture.

So something that didn’t exist before like 1947 is now seen by the manosphere-brained to be a biological imperative.

Browser integration with password managers is overrated. It’s a lot of trouble, breaks all the time, and has security issues. Plus you’re trusting your logins to a third party which makes me sad.

Those DNA kits work differently than what you might expect. When they say “you’re 20% German”, what they mean is that you’ve got 20% of the genetic markers they’ve identified in modern people who identify as German.

This might not seem like a big difference, but it is because genetics doesn’t respect political boundaries. Ancestry will not tell you that you’re 60% Texan because “Texas” isn’t a recognized biological origin. Even though people have been there as long as they’ve been in Mexico.

You also have to accept that 20th Century Germans who’ve participated in DNA testing is the absolute standard for what a “German” is.

Nonsense. The idea of “national DNA” is incoherent leftovers from race-theory.

What you’re being distracted from is the fact that rape and sexual assault, especially of children is normal and accepted in our society. You may be confused by all the hate and demonetization pedophiles get, but like all rape, the status of the perpetrator matters most.

Until 1971, married men were immune from charges of raping their wives. And several States protected them after that. For every 100 rapes reported to the police, only 18 charges will be filed ¹. And of course their are incompetent pigs and timid prosecutors. But it’s also the public at large who won’t convict rapists. (because nobody believes women)

Epstein wasn’t hiding anything. And all those people around him knew what he was up to.

But forget about Epstein. What powerful men are snatching teenagers off the street today? Nobody cares.

The Epstein scandal is about embarrassing powerful men. Nobody gives a shit about raped little girls.
