I second this. I am currently still using the waxed canvas bag from the distilled collection and all I’ve had to do is replace the strap from wear. Its seen rain, snow, and shitloads of abuse that would cause these cheaper bags to just disintegrate. Its old as shit by now but aside from being well worn - is still perfectly functional.

Its normalization. Its framed as a good thing… Like “protect the children” while masking the problematic thing… Like mass surveillance or in this case: people can’t afford a place to sleep.

After training AI for hours on our leadership… Were confused as to why everything autocorrects to “eggplant” and “peach” when messaging children. A true mystery.

The difference here is choice. I have slept in my car on road trips. These people are sleeping in cars because they can’t afford housing. If that doesn’t concern you - it should.

Regardless of who you are or even what your standing is - using a public platform to effectively slander another individual while you air your (interpersonal) grievances isn’t… acceptable. Do point out to me where I said keep anyone’s anything private. I said the act of publicly profiting off of their side of a story was the sub human act. It is, quite literally, selling a story which may (and frequently is) embellished at the others expense.

Fond memories though. Learning basic on a cartridge… Using literal cassettes for storage. That horrifying sound of a 5" floppy drive struggling to read that file you really needed. Good times.

Generally speaking that was probably what most of us would identify as pre internet times - but usenet / BBS / and early internet and prior definitely was more bright eyed and optimistic. Probably because it was more about learning and tech and less about monotizing every square inch of your existence 😂

I doubt they will drop below 1-2 weeks. Any service outage would turn into a ddos when service was restored.
