Are they constantly imagining that they are talking to UNREASONABLE individuals?

I do not come from the US, but in somewhat lefty or centrist spaces I can’t see this style.

      I agree. I’m just tired of the concept of profanity. It makes no sense to have words that can be used sometimes and not other times. Like don’t swear near a lady, or children. Use the word that means what you want to convey. Someday, it will cease to exist.

      One of the most underappreciated things about writing posts for the internet is that the most factual treatment gets the best response. If you’re just an anonymous rando, people’s bandwidths for your personal feelings are limited.

          It’s legit. Not many people do it, maybe most want to talk more than be listened to, but I promise, the vote score it gets is better.

          That doesn’t apply to influencers and outlets, which are personality driven and can gain an aura of authority, just comment-waterfalls like this one.

          Maybe “underappreciated” is the wrong word, because it implies a value judgement. Edit: Nah, I’ll switch it to active voice.
