          It is legal in some states. CBD, and some hemp products, were federally legal, but generally it wasn’t. However, the federal restrictions usually weren’t enforced if you lived in a state where it was legal, unless you worked for the federal government.

      It’s always (well, since 1937 or 1970, depending on how you wanna look at it) been federally illegal. Several states are actively breaking federal law and allow for sales in various forms. They’ve basically been left alone, but at any point the federal government could kick in the door of every “legal” Cannabis shop.

      I believe the thing they’re doing now is closing a loophole around growing low-THC plants.
