No decision has yet been taken on the future of the Challenger 2 tanks that will not be upgraded under the Challenger 3 programme, the UK Defence Journal understands.
I think Ukraine could rehome them with adequate sized enclosures and enough space for them to forage. Why not?
Its decent tank but even heavier than an abrahms and logistically awkward for using a 2 part ammo that no one outside the UK uses. Not really that well suited to the conditions in Ukraine. (One of the big challenger 3 changes is just switching to a NATO standard gun)
Why? I think Ukraine could find plenty of human tankers who would love to step into a challenger 2.
