My only beef with this is - why buy a garment if you don’t know if it will fit? I would still wash it when I got it home, but I would hope to have some idea if the garment was going to fit me or I wouldn’t buy it in the first place. The fit can change fairly dramatically between ironed and un-ironed - particularly the set over the shoulders, and sleeve length, so I would recommend at least basic ironing.
My own clothes - I don’t. But items to donate I’ll give them a touch up for the above reasons. The charity may or may not have an iron or pressing facilities or may not be willing to do it.
