Kuwait has withdrawn the citizenship of its ambassador to the United Kingdom, Badr Mohammed Al-Awadhi, in a rare decision that leaves a serving diplomat without the nationality of the state he was accredited to represent.
Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality
I think when your country has one of those it’s safe to say it’s a dictatorship.
Wonder if another country is going to offer him citizenship.
The UK has the same, it is just more duplicitous and calls it The Home Office.
I agree with you technically (and the UK has always had some dictatorship vibes going for it), but even the UK doesn’t have a “supreme committee for deciding who we want in the country or who we’re racist against”
From your own link:
From 2010 to 2018 (the latest figures on record), on average 19 people a year were deprived of their citizenship where it was conducive to the public good.
Kuwait however is doing it by the thousands apparently
Hell, tens of thousands annually
This is something that Trump would love to have in the US, but as it is I don’t think even he can get people’s citizenships revoked en masse yet.
This is banana republic lawless BS.
It sounds like someone’s trying to stir up old political grievances.
They say your dead father is retroactively not a citizen, therefore we’re taking everything away from you and there’s no appeal.
Almost as bad as kidnapping American citizens and deporting them to El Salvador.
Stop giving Genghis Don ideas!
