Election in which country?
Country?
I assumed federal state, as 2028 are elections here in Bavaria. ;-)The United States
Not mentioning the country in the post was such a ridiculously obvious case of US-defaultism that at first I thought it to be engagement baiting, before I saw your other comment.
So actually quite funny :-)Alright, didn’t know
As always, under no circumstances CSU or AFD.
As social Democrats are nearly nonexistant in Bavaria and did a lot of shit in the higher tiers, probably “die Grünen”.
I am still not very fond of the left-wing “die Linke”I am still not very fond of the left-wing “die Linke”
I’d love them if they would just drop the pro-russian pacifist crap … Their domestic policies are great, but they can’t be let anywhere near the federal government.
Exactly.
If they just stuck to their core premises and cut the fringe topics, they would be an instant vote!Does that matter much in a state election? I guess they might gain seats on the Bundesrat. But the Bundesrat doesn’t have much power over foreign politics.
Does that matter much in a state election?
Nope, that’s why I specifically said federal government.
I envy you.
Democratic system is still not perfect here, but yes, orders of magnitude better than the broken two-party US election system OP probably had in mind…
Assuming you’re talking about presidential elections - no one. The next elections are in 2030, not 2028.
I’ve been happy with Stubb so I’ll probably vote for him even though I voted for Haavisto last time.
The US presidential elections are in 2028 … probably.
But Finland’s are in 2030. The question didn’t specify which country.
The question did specify 2028, which would’ve excluded Finland, yet you deemed it necessary to grace us with your opinion about a 2030 election.
Rather, if you wanted to consistently pedantic, you should’ve replied with “Nobody, because Finland’s presidential election is in 2030”
If you’re going to be obtuse, atleast put some effort into it ;-)
you deemed it necessary to grace us with your opinion about a 2030 election.
No, I did not. I’m not the one who initially responded.
There is no 2028 election for me to vote in.
If the 2029 election was held today, I’d probably vote for the Greens.
Labour. They’re the kind of boring I want in politics, and they’re the ones closest aligned with parts of my conglomerated ideology. Plus while I was initially sceptical of the ability of Støre to lead, he has turned out alright.
I’d be a bit perplexed as to why the election was held a year early, though.
I’m hoping the tutti frutti coalition proves fruitful and Red gets their national commuter ticket next year as well.
Well, since my country’s government resigned under the pressure of a nationwide protests, althou elections will not be held today, they will be pretty soon.
As to who am I going to vote for, I’m still askig myself this. All of the parties have proven themselves to be trash in one way or the other.
And the newcomer party that is expected to appear will be formed by the former president, who also resigned last week, not because of pressure, but to be able to form a party and participate in the upcoming parliament elections. And while he was president he made some statements that made it very clear he has sympathies towards Russia, so a big NO on the voting there too.
You live in Venezuela?
I don’t know how you got that idea since I said that the president resigned, not that he was kidnapped by a foreign country.
Do you expect serious answers when you haven’t said who’s running in the 2028 election? At minimum, you need to make up a couple of candidates that are running against each other.
Bij1. They’re as close to anarchist/council communist as it gets imho, pretty good stuff.
Trixie, Katya and Michelle Visage. Bring back the triumvirate, make the empire Roman again!

Bruh which timezone r u from?
Can’t sleep?
Me neither xD
I live in Kentucky, and the timezone there is EST/EDT. I woke up very early after sleeping from around 7pm to 3am today.

Rise up and also rise and shine

Not the green. Their policies are hostile towards anyone not living in a big city center. Not the “left party” (former communist party). The rhetoric is the hostile to men brand of feminism and they have a dubious economic policy.
Me voting for either is like an immigrant voting for Trump.
The DNC candidate in the general.
Well at least I appreciate the honesty 😆🏴
SP probably.
This post is gonna get comments from doomers/pessimists saying “there will NOT be an election in 2028”, so let me just say that there will be an election in 2028. I’m NOT sure who to vote for, but I’d vote for Andy Beshear
Broke: There will be an election and that’s good.
Woke: There won’t be an election because Cheeto Fascist will cancel it.
Bespoke: There will be an election but that’s bad because it implies that the conditions that allowed for Cheeto Fascist to flourish have not been abolished.

Nobody
🏴Do not live in the states, but have the feeling that with all the ICE killing going on (media makes it seem rather serious) it would have been a reduction of violence if democrats had won ‘24.
Also I do wonder aren’t there no smaller parties that might even be considered good? Sure they would not win by a long shot, it’s still a vote taken from fascists.
Voting for minor parties in the US isn’t a vote taken from fascists in a winner takes it all system.
It only has symbolic power and can prevent an absolute majority
Oh right… I forgot about that, must have had an actual democratic system in mind :/
It’s pretty much the same in a parliamentary election system with an electoral threshold.
If the party you vote for can’t clear that threshold, you might as well not vote at all.
I guess your vote still has a slight impact, as it makes it harder for other parties that hover around the electoral threshold to get in. But I doubt that’s the impact you are going for.

Nah the violence would be the same, but the vote-blue-no-matter-who liberals wouldn’t be yelling about it, because it’s okay when the Democrats do ICE/Gaza genocide/police violence/environmental destruction/regime change/basically anything Trump has done butfilling out the legal paperwork first.

Read the link. Voting is not harm reduction. I’m an anarchist. 🏴
To organize from a position that voting is an act of damage limitation blurs lines of the harm that settler and resource colonialism imposes. Under colonial occupation all power operates through violence. There is absolutely nothing “less harmful” about participating in and perpetuating the political power of occupying forces. Voting won’t undue settler colonialism, white supremacy, hetero-patriarchy, or capitalism. Voting is not a strategy for decolonization. The entire process that arrived at the “Native vote” was an imposition of U.S. political identity on Indigenous Peoples fueled by white supremacy and facilitated by capitalism.
